Just given you your 100th like…..how was the weather overall ?. I’m from the UK and have reservations about the northern route to Southampton. When did the weather start to deteriorate ?

We left Ft. Lauderdale on May 2nd and it was quite warm. The next six days were sea days and I have to say, we had perfect weather although during the last couple days the temps dropped a little but we were still by the pool. When we got to Ireland, we had a little rain in the morning and then it cleared up and was just a little chilly. Same for Portland Dorset and Belgium. We arrived in Southampton UK on May 15th and had crystal clear blue sky and semi warm (no jackets). We have done five Transatlantic cruises and have enjoyed them all. Typically, I like the ones leaving the UK because you typically get a few stops in the Caribbean on the way back. I would not hesitate to do another one. In August we are doing the British Isles and then Iceland/Greenland. Looking forward to that one also!! Thanks for the likes and comments. I appreciate you watching.

I personally think the Apex is a poor ship for the fjords. Any ship with a forward observation lounge is a better choice. So any of the Solstice ships or Millennium ships from Celebrity, HAL ships, most ships. In colder weather and for forward views in an interior space, those work better. In the Apex or Edge or Ascent or Beyond, you can see the fjords from your balconiy/infinite balcony or from Eden. But Eden has aft views. The Apex is better for Med or Caribbean cruises or warmer weather. If you're in a suite you can have forward views in Luminae while you're in the restaurant. If not, there's no access to front views unless you're in the gym.

Sir, great job on the video. I want to be constructive about my opinion on this and all of the Edge class ships. I appreciate that Celebrity has upped the entertainment quality, the service, the usual Celebrity touches. I also agree on the misses and extra charges. But I'm not a fan of the newest Celebrity ships after being first introduced to Celebrity with the Zenith from 1992 and seeing the evolution of their design/style with the Century, Millennium and Solstice classes. First thing I don't like is the front of the ship being for suite passengers only. They have their own decks, suites, a specialty restaurant for only them as well as their "retreat lounge." On all the other Celebrity classes that's not really the case and there's a, for me anyway, an essential sky observation lounge that provides a nightclub, forward ocean views, trivia games, silent discos, etc. That's a big public area this ship lacks and pretty much a dealbreaker for me. I also don't love the Martini Bar being in the lobby of the ship (Grand Plaza) and the Club taken on the observation lounge's activity. It's much smaller and confined feeling. It relies on tech but that tech wow factor will diminish in time. Another issue I have is greige. It's all the rage in a lot of the hospitality industry and in my view, it's going to be looked upon as 1970s wood paneling in time. This taupe base with muted colors has never been an aspect of Celebrity design/ambiance and it just makes this class feel like an other new ship using this formula. I like the Normandie and Cosmo restaurants because they maintain a Celebrity style (a kind of modern retro). Other things I don't like is the lack of a library, the lack of an elegant lounge like Ensembles Lounge on the Solstice class. The Eden lounge is different as it is part of a tiered large space. But those staterooms, even the highest level ones, are greige. On the positive side, Eden is a different look, more open, styled greenhouse look with several areas to relax at times and places for music at night and it has the high rated restaurant there. The ship is modern but I think it'll date to an early 2020s ship due to its very trendy appointments. If you love a variety of restaurants, this is your ship. If you like open tiered social areas, this is your ship. If you like acrobats, this is your ship. I would like to see some changes in the next Celebrity class of ships. If they must have suite only areas please, don't take away the observation lounge. Bring it back. And bring back smaller, more intimate social areas.

@@benjaminsmith2287 Thanks for sharing your observations and experience and I agree with a lot of it. I still like the small cruise ships overall and am sailing on one now. Appreciate you watching and commenting.

I think the folk with plenty of on board spend / credit use that $$ to pay for the speciality restaurants

I could not agree more. I have to say, I am totally opposed to going to the speciality restaurants and getting something that I can get in the regular dining room. My wife had read the reviews of Eden and our friends and her really wanted to try it, so I gave it a shot. It was fantastic if you like seafood. I could not eat anymore lobster or crab by the end of the meal. Nice treat we had.

@@patsadventures6381 First speciality restaurant was on the Millennium when it only had 1 specialty restaurant. It was a special treat with tableside preparation and personalized service for a reasonable amount of money. The food in the regular restaurant was excellent. Then NCL came out with a bunch of restaurants, the Solstice class added the Raw on 5, Tuscan (steakhouse on the Edge ships), Qsine/Bistro, etc. so Celebrity now uses this and the Retreat as their main revenue enhancement. I'm more a Solstice class type but for the smaller social spaces and observation lounge, not the restaurants. Cruising has a lot of upselling now. It's the product now.
