Celebrity APEX | Scotland & Iceland Cruise | Greenock & Sea Days

From The Greenock cruise port we visit the Glengoyne whisky distillery and then enjoy two sea days, heading North.

We've had some fantastic food on all the cruises we've been on, but have to say, Celebrity were definitely the most consistently good of all our cruises. The buffet was probably the best overall.

You can tell they’ve done that whiskey tour a thousand times over. It could be so boring but it just goes to show, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. Very confident presentation with bags of personality. It’s not Scotland unless it rains. We’ve had bucket loads of it this year. Not been much of a summer. How did you find the Infinity balcony ? Not to everyone’s taste based on the cruise forums. We’ve just had our second stay in one and I quite like it. Quirky to a point but it ticks all the boxes. Kelly Hoppen has done an amazing job with the interiors.

Yeah, the distillery tour was brilliant. The guys were very engaging. We really liked the infinite balcony, although we both thought we might not like it so much in a warm climate. Perfect for the sort of cruise we were on, though. Too cold and blustery to sit outside.

Love the video! Amazed that the ship took the Western route out of the Solent past the Needles. That’s very unusual as the channel is fairly narrow and the shingle banks are unpredictable, but good on Celebrity for choosing that route.

Good day Cruisers. We were on same cruise and so this is compulsive viewing for me. You must have been aware of the 3 Police Cars early when docked. It was surreal. The Buffet food on 14th Deck Oceanview Cafe served lovely food. No complaints. We took the bus into Buchanan Street Glasgow and just avoided the downpour at 3PM.

Videos never show just how rough it was! 4-6m waves with occasional 7m thrown in for good measure. The rear of the ship certainly wasn't the place to be, it was like sitting on a see-saw and there is constant propeller noise. No crows nest lounge is a real downside of these class of ships when on board for two sea days. Getting a decent view forwards to reduce the effects of the swell isn't possible.

Yeah, there was a marked difference between aft and midship at that time, but overall, we felt the ship was very stable considering the sea conditions.
