Although we have sailed with Celebrity almost exclusively for years, the only other Edge-class ship we have been on is the Apex (3x). Since we haven't been on the Beyond and have not seen the changes made after the Apex, I am sure that there will be a lot of new to see on the Ascent. My husband and I are on the December 17, 2023 sailing in order to celebrate my 60th birthday! Originally, we booked a Sky Suite. However, we learned a couple of weeks ago that we won our Move Up bid and will stay in a Royal Suite. 10 days to go...

Hello I am by no means an expert. However, we were on ascent ship on Dec 10th, 7 night. We sailed in a modest inside cabin that reminded me of a luxury hotel with most of the amenities you would expect . The food was very good. We are greek and enjoy good cheeses and fruits and lamb it was cooked right and excellent quality. They did not skimp on anything. They had a seafood extravaganza in buffet which included all the lobster crab claws shrimp you can eat. Fried calamari cooked, right. I think you'll be very happy shows we're good Service great. We have cruised on many lines and 50 cruised

We were on the Inaugural cruise and the Dec. 10th cruise. We were in the Retreat staying in a Sky Suite. We loved everything about the cruise, except for the food in Luminae. The menu was very limited and the food was just not tasty. Also, the price of their drinks is way over inflated. Why have a premium drink package if the basic wines are not included?

Great video guys! Was on Beyond while you were on Ascent and definitely think the addition of the parasols on the pool deck is a great idea. The games etc look great fun - hope they add all that to the other ships too! Did find Beyond a little bit soulless (compared to recollection of being on solstice class ships) but those additions might help a bit.

Hello! We sailed on the December 24th cruise on Ascent. Most of the complaints we heard were about how noisy the cabins were, but the very windy weather we experienced should be considered. Never had issues with baggage handling on X before, but this trip they replaced both bags due to the wheels being jammed up into the suitcases. Food was great, but as you guys noted, proper finishing touches just aren't there.

Great video, guys! I’m so sorry that you are not getting the maiden voyage experience you were expecting. We are actually on the Edge right now. Tomorrow we will dock in Sydney where the Edge Class debuts there. We have heard nothing of any special events or celebrations other than the Captain doing a 360 as we enter Sydney Harbor. I did hear that they are bringing on 50 influencers and media as well as a bunch of people from the Miami office. We’ll see how it goes and let you know.

We were on the Maiden Voyage of the Disney Magic and the Disney Dream. The Magic was a letdown as though we did get a glass of champagne, the glass was a plastic cup. No flutes, just a plastic cup. Later in the cruise there was a piece of art given to each cabin. But this was after complaints from the guests. On the Disney Dream things were better, with champagne flutes and Mylar Pom poms to shake.

Usually, there are a plethora of special events, champagne toasts, gifts and special people onboard such as President, Execs and Godmothers. On this sailing, most are not present which WE don’t necessarily sail Maidens for, but most other cruisers do. It’s the special feeling that is missing, unfortunately. 😌

LHB is not hospitality focused. Rather she is focused on revenue, and stuck with an aging fleet aside from the newer ships. Cutbacks have been fleetwide, butlers were fired from Retreat, and many of the ships are in need of refurbishment.

The absolute last thing this ship needs is another dining venue. And the Annex doesn't get close to providing what this ship is crying out for and those are bigger public areas to enjoy music and activities. The Music Hall on Oasis is what this ship needs. That would work much better than The Club for some activities. A design of Eden that is more like Two70 on Oasis is what this ship needs because it is designed for shows yet can do other types of performances. Let's not get too enamored with the novelty of tech. It'll be old hat in a few years. What type of spaces accommodate activities and how does the space work and is it big enough. I contend the 3 spaces for activities indoors mainly that is the martini bar in the Grand Plaza, The Club and Eden and they all can be crowded. The ship needs a space like Music Hall and RCI Bolero, and then there would be more options on the class of ship. There certainly are enough dining venues. Since Celebrity didn't design them into the ship, they're sort of stuck with what they have because they've included the Retreat into the design. Notice there are charges now for Craft Social and Annex's food. This feels like nickel and diming to me. Beverage service is a soft item so that's variable and can and may be improved in future sailings. The reason why this ship was able to produce mostly good service is it is a familiar class now, not the first ship in the class. Lack of a maiden voyage perks and features could mean all the previews almost took the place of one. But other lines haven't done up the maiden voyages either. With so many new ships coming out, it's not maybe the even it once was.

Hey Jordan and Jarret, it was nice meeting you both in the Casino earlier this week. I agree that this just didn’t feel like a maiden voyage and have really been disappointed by the lack of merchandise and activities. I was also surprised not to be greeted by the captains, at least one, after all we have two onboard and they could have taken turns to greet guest. And let me not start about the lack of butler service for sky suite guest. I booked this cruise over a year ago and Celebrity changed the program without changing the price or notifying upcoming guest. Anyway, it’s a beautiful ship but Celebrity may need to refocus their attention on the client and not just profits.

We’re booked and paid for a February 25 Ascent cruise. Having Celebrity screw people over who booked Sky Suites is not sitting well with me and will be a deal breaker for any future cruise on this line. I don’t care how much fun I may or may not have, because it’s been awful feeling so upset beforehand. I expected to have reserved seating at the theater but it sounds like that’s gone as well. This is a bait and switch deal for those who booked early, and I will be looking into a lawsuit/class action regarding this. It’s left a really bad taste….

The Annex is a good idea, but maybe not the best for being for everyone. The space was a closet near the theater where a reclusive concierge would sit waiting for high level captains club members. The space now will be as underutilized given the price point. The concept of small activities is a good one, but they probably dont people loitering and using their drink packages. Rather they want people to pay extra like the way Annex is an extra.

Okay. The guy in the Annex will become famous off of the videos he's done. FWIW, I think the addition of the foosball and Ms Pac-Man in the Club are nice additions and appropriate for the space. Some of the table games that are in the locker boxes for the cabanas would be nice too. Hoping you two film a video with the Gamblers and Jay. Might help get you to 50k, too. (I think colabs are YT thing). The cameos during the live steam were fun. Thanks, and hope you have continued success.

I’m a big fan of Celebrity but like other lines, they have increased prices and reduced service elements. I’ve been able to book SOLO mini suites on Explora Journeys for less than the price of an Aqua class cabin on Edge class ships - TWICE. The value proposition for Celebrity has declined over the last 12 months definitely … The removal of the dedicated Sky Suite butlers is also part of that unfortunately. I think the food is still up at the top as is the overall service on Celebrity. I don’t fully understand the criticism about the lack of new things; Celebrity has been very up front that Ascent was going to be a clone of the Beyond since it was under construction … they have to commit to design choices well in advance. But I believe the next ships in the Edge class may have some differences…

We are on this sailing and are disappointed that the CEO and/or other upper management are not here among their loyal passengers for the maiden voyage. Overall the cruise is great, amazing food and service. However, drink prices have increased. We are in a SkySuite with the premium drink package. Decoy wine was part of the premium package, but not on this sailing, there is now an extra charge for this and many other wines.

It looks a great ship and very beautiful but my concern is that it,s mainly a cruise for 60 plus white and retired.I am male 47 and my husband is 26 just get a feeling it would be like a black guy walking into a klu klux clan meeting if we went on a voyage with celebrity usually we go with Virgin Voyages.

The average age is actually 57 and younger on Edge Class, 7 nights or less. As a mixed race gay couple, we have actually preferred Celebrity over Virgin Voyages because they do more for the LGBTQ+ community including meet-ups, Pride Parties and more. As for race, we’ve never had a racist incident on Celebrity and find more people to be progressive in thought than left behind in the past. We highly recommend you try out Celebrity before assuming something as wild as racist-homophobes roaming Celebrity because it’s quite the opposite. ☺️

Been on two BIG SHIPS. HATE THEM . To many people and same amount of elevators as the smaller ship. I have waited up to 45 minutes for a use of a elevators. NOT ENOUGH ELEVATORS

I’ve already fallen off the Celebrity bandwagon. Took a cruise on Summit in late October in AQ class and it was way below past Celebrity standards. Service is SO lacking now. And don’t get me talking about quality of food now on Celebrity. Yuck. We’re Elite and i think we’ve just booked our final Celebrity cruise. Now booking Azamara and Oceania where service is still alive and well. We’re also trying out Virgin for first time in September.

been on Beyond, Edge and Reflection, and will be on Constellation this May. Very disappointing to hear the premium drinks package no longer appears to be premium. Did see an interview with the new CEO, and she seemed frankly oblivious to any critisism. I would actually say she was arrogantly stupid. Celebrity need to be very caeful.

Very disappointing on this being classified as a Maiden Voyage. I agree … nothing special. Threw us a hat and a book. Celebrity is what is known as ‘luxury cruising’ and for them to not make an effort on this MV was a let down. They need to refocus on the passengers & not the money. Rethinking my future cruises & how loyal I and my friends will stay.

Leaving this brand...they have declined in a downward spiral...They are a shell of what they use to be...The spiral downward is VERY present on the S and M class ships...

Couldn’t disagree more. Three sailings in the last year. Maritime Provinces, Caribbean, and Alaska. All were first rate. Service, food, excursions, etc. Have been with Celebrity for 25 years. Looking forward to the transatlantic in April on Ascent, our first cruise on the Edge class.

I am a TA with 57cruises under my belt and you do not know what you are talking about. The Edge class ships are celebrity’s and sailings finest hour .you can’t call yourself a sailor with having sailed on one of the edge class ships. The two are whiny little girls. Captain Kate was on my voyage in the Beyond and was on the gang plank along with the cruise director as we got off the ship. The Beyond blew me out of the water every which way and I am looking forward to a ten day on the Beyond and two trips in the ascent. But Alina must be smoking crack cocaine to have made these comments. Where is he gonna go. Msc?
