CELEBRITY ASCENT SHIP TOUR
In this Celebrity Ascent tour, we cover every square inch of this 141K gross ton ship.
We start the tour at the ship's top and go forward with the Retreat. This ship within a ship
concept includes a private two-story sun deck, bar, lounge, and exclusive restaurant, Luminae.
Not far from the Retreat is the main outdoor deck. The Resort Pool is the center of this outdoor space.
For cruisers who are 16+, the Solarium offers an indoor pool area and loungers, so it is always a pool day, regardless of the weather outside. There is also the tranquil Rooftop Garden. An excellent
alternative to a sports deck on contemporary cruise lines, this space includes live music and yard games and hosts pickleball at sea.
The fitness center and spa follow this Celebrity Ascent ship tour and walkthrough. Located
forward on decks 14 and 15, this area offers cruises the opportunity to get in a workout or relax with a message. One of our favorite areas on the ship is the SEA Thermal Suite, which offers various soothing experiences.
Inside Celebrity Ascent, there are 8 complimentary restaurants. Among these eateries is the Oceanview Café on Deck 14. This cruise ship buffet is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snacks. Other poolside bites are available at the Mast Grill, which is open most of the day for burgers, fries, and self-service frozen yogurt. Other small bites are available on Deck 14 at the Spa Café. Sandwiches, paninis, and salads are available at the Deck 5 Eden Café, whereas cruisers can enjoy espresso-based drinks, pastries, and desserts at Café al Bacio on Deck 4.
At night, four themed main dining rooms serve a rotating menu of specialties and Exclusive on decks 3 and 4. Along with complimentary restaurants, Celebrity Ascent offers 8 specialty restaurants. These upcharge venues are mainly found on decks 4 and 5. They include my favorite, the Fine Cut Steakhouse, the new globally inspired Le Voyage, and the a la carte sushi experience at Raw on 5.
We continue our Celebrity Ascent ship tour, looking at the bars on the ship. There are three outdoor
bars, with our favorite being the newly enhanced Sunset Bar on Deck 15. Cruisers can’t go wrong with a properly made cocktail at the World Class bar, whereas beer lovers will not want to miss the Craft Social on Deck 4. Yet, the hub of the ship is the Martini Bar on Deck 3, which takes the art of making cocktails to the next level.
In this Celebrity Ascent tour, we showcase the several entertainment spaces that boast signature productions. On decks 4 and 5 forward, the main theater features three productions exclusively on Celebrity Ascent. Likewise, live concerts, game shows, and the game on augmented multiplayer experiences occur at The Club on decks 4 and 5 forward. Aft on Deck 5 is the entrance to Eden. This three deck venue includes a bar, restaurant, and café and is home to one-of-a-kind circus performances from an entirely separate cast.
Celebrity Ascent is a friendly ship, with Camp Sea for kids 3-12 found forward on deck 3. For those teens aged 12-17, they can hang out at the Basement, which is all the way aft on Deck 2.

The retreat was lovely. There are no real changes besides the Butler service cut for most suites. What other Celebrity Cruises ships have you sailed on and stayed in the Retreat?

@@Eatsleepcruise1 We haven’t been on Celebrity, or any other line, since 2001 (Millennium to Alaska with butler and all the extras…was wonderful!) Busy with family and work obligations but retired now and ready to explore. I am hoping it will be a great vacation but with the changes made since booking, I’d hate to be so disappointed that it would be the last trip. Ascent is absolutely beautiful and that in itself will be a big plus. Fingers crossed!🤞🏼

Oh my gosh Mindy! I am jealous that you will be in the Retreat. We experienced a Sky Suite and Retreat on the Edge in 2022. It was our best cruise ever. The suite was wonderful with a fabulous bathroom and a REAL balcony. Hope you love eating at Luminae as much as we did. Our dinner server was so fantastic, and we tipped him and the Luminae hostesses extra $$ for making our experience wonderful. We are doing the Ascent differently however by booking an infinite veranda cabin for 2 weeks in February for a longer, in depth experience. I am hoping that will be great too, exploring the various main dining and specialty options.

Now I’m the jealous one… TWO whole weeks of being pampered, Retreat or not, no cooking, cleaning or grocery shopping 🛒 Priceless…well not exactly but awesome in its own way 💙 Tipping extra is a given no matter where we are, but it’s the sneaky, silent BS that Celebrity is pulling that sets me off in a big way. And if we let them get away with not fulfilling obligations made to their clients, then you will see every other cruise line doing this. It’s about principle. That said, my husband has agreed to not making a fuss about it while on vacation, and any ‘problems’ will be documented and dealt with after. We’re going with a few other couples and will no doubt enjoy the beautiful experience. Personally, I love the buffet because I can pick and choose, and I honestly don’t even need a butler to bring /do anything special for me. But it’s what they sold us on in the advertising… PRINCIPLE!!! ACCOUNTABILITY!!! I’ll review it when we return and I hope I eat my words 😆 Wishing you an incredible upcoming cruise experience! Where are the indoor lounges? I wish Celebrity had spent as much time and effort including swanky beautiful lounges to drink and dance and listen to music in as they did with the restaurants. The World Class bar could be extended to a swanky lounge as the decor is really very nice. As is it's just not big enough and dedicated enough to be considered a lounge and there's no music played there on its own or dance floor. The Steak house restaurant could have a portion of it turned into a club and it could become a supper club. The Martini Bar isn't a lounge. It's a section of the Grand Plaza. It's OK as it is part of some "hub" of the ship but I don't really subscribe to that so much as I think areas of activity and moods and impulse spaces should be throughout the whole ship. The Club is a nightclub. Craft Social is a sports bar. Cafe al Bacio is kind of like a lounge but is an upscale coffee and pastry eatery, yet another eatery space on the ship. Interior, the only places to dance and have music in a dedicated space is The Club. Some of the elegance of the restaurants should have been used to create 3 really elegant lounges. I'm not faulting the exterior lounges like the Sunset Bar, just the interior lack of them. The thing with the Martini Bar is it is energetic and open and it does have the nice dance floor and such and it is a nice space. But if one wants to find a different vibe, more quiet and romantic and charming that's where the ship is a letdown because it doesn't really have a space with music and a dance floor like that. That's an unfortunate omission in a ship this size and scope. I would say for the most part this ship is for people who love to dine because that's the biggest activity that much of the public spaces is dedicated to. There are a lot of high-end shops as well. Eat and drink galore and spend extra for a lot of it. Thankfully there's a really nice entertainment venue and some elsewhere on the ship. But mingle and dance is where this ship falls short. As lovely as it is in terms of a lot of its decor, it falls short in this area vs. what competitors offer. This is an extremely well done tour and I really like that you place the deck plans up to show where the spaces are on the ships.

@@Eatsleepcruise1 Not sure. Did a good amount of cruising but not in recent years. Also I used to tour a lot of ships as a member of two ship clubs. I do love ships.
