Crossed the Atlantic on her last month. Beautiful ship.

I sailed on this when it was new and it is so much different. A lot of big open spaces were nicely sectioned off like the area above the Rendzvous. It was one giant lounge and not optimal. Now it is Wine Cellars and Sushi specialty restaurant. The Upper Lounge, Reflections, has been updated and some other areas tastefully. Thankfully, the main dining room's grandeur has been retained. Looks good. I love the Solstice class style Martini Bar. Maybe the ships sails with Celebrity until about 2030 so sail aboard when you can (as the Constellation). The only change I don't like is losing Michael's Club. But I feel it looks so much nicer than the meh lounge on the new class of ships for Retreat passenger.

Our first cruise was on the Connie in 2012, 15 days around the Southern Caribbean to celebrate 40 years marriage; we loved it.

I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your cruise or have a good cabin steward. On our sailing there was food in the buffet (including the pizza and pasta stations) until 1am which is typical of Celebrity Cruises. If you enjoy a more lively night life, you probably would be better on another cruise line. Virgin Voyages, MSC, Carnival, and NCL all come to mind.

@@travelingwithrebecca RCI as well. I think the cabin not being clean is a cabin steward issue, not a ship issue. Food and service and such is subject to the personnel you encounter on your cruise. The ship is the platform and hardware and I think as hardware, the Millennium class is very good. I still like the Century class more due to one more lounge in the aft of the ship. But there have been big enhancements to this ship since its original design.

This is a rather old ship 😊 bildt in 2001. I was on Infinity in 2012 at that time it was a modern ship. This look a bit outdatet.

The best was Celibrity Soltice Concierce Class in 2014. Greetings from Norway

Thanks for your comments. She is an older ship and missed her revolution because of the pandemic but from all I could see she has been really well maintained. And although she isn't the most modern, I'm among those that love her traditional charm. The S Class (such as the Solstice) are also great ships. We'll be on the Celebrity Eclipse again next year.

It has to do with perspective. 2001 is not an "old" ship. Today's view of how long ships should last is IMO warped because so many people want the newest and think anything older then 7 years is old. However, ships should last 40 plus years. They'll get refurbished from time to time but they are floating buildings and some aspects of them are timeless. This ship is more middle-aged than old before all of these newbuilds came along and people now expect and looking forward to newer. This ship has most of what the newer Solstice class ships have as it was retrofitted into it. I don't see anything outdated about it because it is a "retro-modern" design in many areas so it is, in a way, timeless in design. Yes, the theater doesn't match the Edge but those will be "outdated" by another class of later ships. But a lot of the charm and intimacy and richness of the spaces work in any time from the dining room, to the Martini bar to the foyer staircase and elsewhere.

@@travelingwithrebecca Honestly, maybe it is good she did. I don't like some of the changes made to the Millennium, particularly the dining room. The original one fits the style of this particular ship better than lightening, brightening and having it lose its grandeur. I'm not so sure I like the changes to the casino on the Millie either. Or Michael's.
