I remember watching him sing this when it was first broadcast way back in 2004. At first, I thought he was going to perform as 'Manic Street Preachers' frontman James Dean Bradfield, as he looks so much like him. So I was shocked when he came on as Morten Harket of 'A-ha' instead, but he completely blew me away with his powerful singing voice and hit all the high notes perfectly. He did an excellent job of this song and was a very worthy winner. Well done. It was great to finally see this clip again after all those years, so thanks for posting.

Would've pissed myself if he'd come on as Rick, that would've been too good :'D I think he'd have only needed to slightly change the lilt in his voice to mimic that Rick Astley unique voice too. He suited Morten too, though.
