I disagree! U can tell it's Jeff Daniels playing dumb & struggling as hard as he can 2 try & be funny. But I'm a purist, just my opinion, & if y'all disagree & enjoy, is ALL that matters! D&D is 8 outta 10 stars 4 me, just cause of Carrey, but prob 10 out of 10 w/ either a comedic actor or an unknown. Daniels in this is cringe af 4 me the 50 times I've watched it! But evidently, MY LOSS!✌

And if the studio had cast a comedian like they wnated to he probably would've been overshadowed by Carrey. Jim Carrey is a great comedian but he's also a great actor so someone else that's just a comedian would've totally gotten overshadowed.

The delivery of that line is incredible. Most guys who use that kind of line would come off as sleazy - intentionally injecting innuendo into the conversation when it may or may not be wanted. There's kind of an innocence to the way he delivers that line that makes you believe he really didn't mean anything sexual by it (or if he did, it was more of as a childish joke than anything else)
