Sam jumped on two of my songs even though I was completely unknown. This was after Sam had already had his hits so he was really doing me a favor. I really appreciate the effort he put into singing my lyrics and bringing the songs to life. RIP Sam 🙏🏻

It's absolutely a conspiracy to not have R&B music at the forefront, but to have malignant forms of hip hop and rap as the main thing. There would absolutely be more love and less killing if it was still getting the attention that it used to. It's really just sad.

Wowww my sister and I loved “There U are”, we had that single on CD. I have a theory of how the lack of r & b is related to the state of our youth right now. All they have to identify with is druxs, segx , money and not having feelings for anyone as if that’s a good thing. They have no empathy, no love to look up to even if it’s out of their home. In our era, we had so-called gangsta songs but it was also balanced, if not more, with r & b and it was cool to like r & b, all the players and gangsters used to ride around bumping r & b hits! I missed the 90s and EARLY 00s. Thanks for bringing this nostalgic moment back to me.

I had a youth band in the mid/late 90's called Sacred Cow... one night we were playing and noticed a stirring in the crowd... a guy named Sam Salter walked in. Afterwards, I got to meet Sam and he gave me his new CD, After 12...I listened to it when I got home and immediately fell in love with it, but especially a song called There You Are. A few nights later, Sam showed up again the next week and I played an acoustic/pop arrangement of There You Are that I had written. The next day, we were in the studio with his producer... some guy I had never heard of, Tricky Stewart. We recorded a quick demo of the arrangement and a few weeks later, played it live at a youth conference with a full youth choir and band... the mix on this live recording is not so great, but here it is. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for this lifelong memory, Sam. Peace be with you, my friend - kzbin.info/www/bejne/op2ocmh-q9x3g6M
