Celeste Mendoza - One Ideal Visit! - Staten Island

Though a figment of my imagination, this bar, "The Ideal" was a fixture back in the day in Stapleton, Staten Island! Merely my fun and imaginative visit to a bar I used to know! Though I'd only been there infrequently, maybe this clip will elicit some comments, or memoirs of the actual locale! The true, physical locale of this place has nothing to do with the video shown here. Back in the mid-late 60s, this is kind of my dream interpretation! If the then local police were queried, I suspect they'd have called it a "Bucket of Blood!" I await your responses!

Hi John, Nice ballroom dancing, there is an annual competition now being held in Havana, I believe it's at the Riviera or the Cohiba hotel, check it out. Celeste Mendoza, I keep all her late 1950's and early 60's lp records in my collection. Abrazos mi amigo.

Hi Armando, Hope you and family are well! I remember the Riviera Hotel, but what/where/when is the Cohiba Hotel? I promise to check it out my friend. As for Celeste, I've only 1 of her CDs; I don't even know where I have it! This came from my iT collection. She was amazing!
