@@evimbourger You should visit an ENT if that's what you hear. Sarah had three octaves, perfectly controlled. Celeste has little more than one before she has to go to her head voice. And, unlike Sarah, that roughness isn't a choice, it's a lack of breath control.

First time I heard it I didn't know the artist so guessed it was a lesser known song that Amy Winehouse did. Boy was I wrong
@buddhawisdom40353 ай бұрын
They both have a vintage vibe but they are very different in their sound. Amy was more nasal, sadness drawn out and at times sounding rebellious like she didn’t care if you liked her or her singing. Celeste is more bluesy with darker tone, more guttural and unlike Amy, Celeste is present with you aware of what she is creating moment to moment. Every part of the song matters how it is sung and heard.

What I love about this is that her voice, which is evidently haunting in and of itself .. but that it captures the very essence behind the lyrics .. she takes you somewhere. Its transportive and transformative all at once. Many voices are considered technically flawless and there are so many facets in singing that make a song sound good but not every voice can communicate the message in this way. Spellbinding.
