Not enough varied tones to tell but they both produce great sound ... and, for me, probably not worth the doubled+ unit price for blue.

Everyone always compares Greenbacks to everything else and says V30's are better, Creambacks are better, Alnico Blues are better...but quite frankly the Greenbacks sound better than any speaker I've ever compared them to. They just have a more vintage tone, looser "damping", more like what I hear on old records.

Dagger 323 Totally agree! I swear by my Greenbacks, and have them in all of my Vox amps (yup, took out the blues and sold them!). The blues are NOT clearer than Greenbacks! The greens have more mid-range, more bite to the highs, and clearer, punchier lows. The Greens handle distortion better too. I'm a huge fan of Brian May's; but if you've ever had the pleasure of seeing Queen live, you'll hear how mushy, and inarticulate (especially in the low end) his full-throttle tone really is.

Clip 1, Greenback wins. Clip 2, Almost a tie, slightly favoring the blue. Clip 3, Blue wins.

It sounds a lot different if you send some voltage to the speakers... Those speakers are still sleeping in the video.

They are similar enough to compare, would be interesting to try with single coil and humbucking pickups (or even P90's)

blue for playing with full finesse. I have a green one and this sharp sound irritates me a bit.
