Me and a friend just bought our first Telescope in Delhi(India).... This is a Celestron Powerseeker 70AZ Refractor Telescope... We dont know much about Astronomy and Sky observation but it really excites us and its growing on us allot recently... The pictures and the videos in this clip are taken from a Sony 12.0 Megapixel Camera, so the quality of the pictures are not that great...We used a Digital Camera mount to click my pictures and make Videos through the Telescope..... Soon would be coming out wid some DSLR Picture.. Look forward to it..Thanx and ENJOY....
Do check out my another link that i had put up later... images are much sharper and bigger here using the 3X Barlow. Check it in HD if u can.....

People who have never seen through the telescope, the moon looks fascinating through 70 Az. Its just that smartphones and cheep cameras are not good enough for Astrophotography but as beginner, its a good start.

Awesome awesome video dude!! Just got this for my father since he's never been given a gift as a child and always wanted a scope. I don't have a lot of money so I found this at Walmart for $40. We saw the moon and it was pretty good for an entry-level scope. Still haven't figured how to adjust the Barlow lense.

I love the 114 by celestron, i am planning to buy an Orion XT6 soon.... Keeping my fingers crossed...

All friends here at youtube, this telescope is a great scope to start with, explore more sources yo understand how it works. I believe u will eventually find out that every different object in the sky almost need specific scopes to view them. This telescope gives a glimpse all. As i said u have to decide how serious are you guys about this

Yes, you really can see the Moon with this Telescope. I had to play around with the lenses for a little while but when you finally get a clear view it will definitely leave you speechless. And I am a beginner. The only thing I am having trouble with so far is seeing Galaxies but I don't know if that's possible yet.

Hey i just clicked it through my digital camera i think i adjusted the ISO to capture the stills with out movement (though it doesn't move that fast) and also i used a digital camera mount for A-focal photography clicking it through the eyepiece... i have another video in which there are better and larger magnified stills check it....

I saw Uranus with thing, Neptune just looked like a small dot, Pluto couldn't see anything, Mars I could see the pols, Saturn I saw it pretty big, Jupiter was very close up, The Moon I could see its surface, Venus was too bright, and Mercury was a big black dot I couldn't see the sun because I didn't buy a filter it was the Celestron 21061 AstroMaster 70AZ Refractor Telescope.

Hey congrats on your birthday and your new Telescope, i can help u with whatever i know, i use a 4mm eyepiece with my scope and i also have a Barlow lens which is 3X ( that means it multiplies the power of a specific eyepiece by 3 times, 2 times in case of 2X), Read up Barlow Lens for telescopes on google i am sure u will find your way. I think its a great scope for lunar and planetary observation. Though these are Refractor's, Reflectors have an outstanding sharpness and less light aberration

Contemplating getting one of these telescopes but i have a few questions, Can you see Saturn with this scope? Also can you upgrade to better lenses with this scope. Keep in mind that i am a newbie to telescopes. I only really have 3 planets in mind . The moon,Jupiter & Saturn.

Hi Nikhil sorry im a little late. I believe that planets being really far its not easy to identify and focus on it. Depth of field is to short for distant planets for this telescope. Also u might have to take out sometime to understand how it works.

Thanks for posting this vid champ. My wife got me a Celestron Astromaster 70AZ telescope for my 31st bday two days ago. Im still learning how to use it my Jupiter view is pretty much the same as urs, say i want a closer look would i hav to buy an eyepiece better than 20mm (what I'm using) or would i hav to buy a better telescope (obvious choice but I'm trying to work with what i hav lol)

Hey man i just used a Universal A focal/par A focal digital camera adapter.... This was made by a local guy who runs a shop in India into astronomy. I shot all this through the 20mm eyepiece..... I also have another video in which i used a 3x Barlow and the 20mm, images in that video are a little more zoomed in into the subject... You will find adapters on Orion and Celestron websites to i reckon

May I suggest your next purchase be a decent eye piece. It will blow your mind when you see what's out there. And it will really bring your new scope up to its full optic potential. If you are value minded take a look at Paradigm by Astro-Tech. Wonderful eyepieces with great reviews for 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of other higher end eye pieces. Enjoy!

Hardly (its subjective).. Only if you understand the contours of the moon, you can pay attention to the fact that they do exist at these section of the moon.

@stevepeter03
@stevepeter03 10 жыл бұрын
Its call a T-Ring for a Nikon Mount. It has a thread happening on one side to screw it in the DSLR were you mount your lenses/glasses. That portion then can be put behind the telescope and the scope almost acts like your lens.

Actually you can see the Orion Nebula quite good. Did manage to see Andromeda too on the exact same scope while instructing someone on how to use it. Now, the views won't be close in comparison with a Newtonian scope but still a very good beginners scope. I would recommend.

I agree with my colleagues, in addition, I suggest buying this scope used. Retail on the 70AZ or EQ version is around $150. The astronomy sites such as cloudynights.com have classifieds with used scopes that have been loved. Also, upgrade to better eyepieces. It will make this scope perform to its true potential. Clear Skies!!

Well not really, in this video i cud not do much with a point and shoot camera... U can see the planets but they are very small as they are miles away, moon being the closest gives a decent view for a 70mm telescope, u can experiment with different lenses to try for the planets.... I have observed Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Mercury, The beehive star cluster (Pleaides), trying for the Andromeda these days, but remind u these objects are not as large as the moon, again its a 70mm telescope.
