We are almost at the point where the engine and transmission can be dropped into the car! A very exciting time indeed. Sorry for the long wait on this episode; life, work & the needy daily driver got in the way. No more excuses now, let's get to work, and keep up the pace!

Ever check out the CarTuneNZ channel? Tons of esoteric 1/2/3UZ info. The guy works incredibly fast and knows the engines like his own reflection.

Oh totally! Kel's video formats are hard to watch, but there's great info in them. I have a playlist with so many of his videos saved. Helped a LOT when I was doing timing belt / oil pan stuff back in Episode 6!

You should put a glob of silicone over the ends of the exposed rivnuts.
@winguard96
@winguard96 4 жыл бұрын
For what reason? Corrosion protection? The rivnuts are zinc coated already, so that'll help some.

@@winguard96 Exactly. It will also help prevent moisture from migrating into the truck area and around your battery.

Would a 1uz from 96 ls400 work too?
@winguard96
@winguard96 3 жыл бұрын
Sure it would. Running a stock ECU and preparing for smog-readiness is more challenging, however. Thus if you use a 1996 Series 2 1UZ, run a standalone ECU and new harness. :)
