I’ve met Lorraine Warren a few times as she would go to our local schools and do a Q&A. I believe she definitely had psychic gifts. She was a very sweet woman, through and through. Her daughter, Judy, is still local and helps with animals in need. I always see her popping up in our CT rescue groups willing to donate to whatever animal in need. Another very sweet soul. As for what Ed and Lorraine did while they were doing their paranormal things, I don’t know. I can say from meeting Lorraine multiple times, she had great energy and a good aura. As for their son in law, Judy’s husband, Tony Spera. Not a fan. I understand with his pushing their legacy has been immortalized with movies and such, but I believe he saw nothing but dollar signs from the start. When Lorraine became extremely elderly yet still doing her shows, he would speak over her every chance he could. She had that frail “old lady” voice. She would try telling her stories on things she’s seen, felt, etc. and he would speak as if he was there. It was disgusting to say the least. A lot of us CT people NOT a fan of that man.
@StMichaelWarrior7 ай бұрын
You are 100% correct. Tony took over the show, he even went as far as not allowing Lorraine to take questions and at the end of every lecture when People would go up to meet Lorraine or have her sign a book, the last one I was present at Tony stopped a line of 10 people at 2, and grabbed Lorraine and walked her back stage, announced "shows over" we are leaving. Tony has been a fame seeker since the early days doing local access cable. Hes an ego maniac. I spent many times at the house in Monroe with Lorraine and Fr. Bob in the basement museum and hearing her stories about Ed, Einstein her Rooster and so many other things. I still have her number saved on my cell. She was genuinely caring. I miss her.

I also have nothing good to say about Tony. If you aren’t super Catholic, super old school traditional, super American patriot (I’m Canadian), you are his enemy apparently. But I’ve only heard good things about Lorraine as a person, that she was so kind.

I know a retired priest who worked with the Warrens during his time in Connecticut. According to the Warrens, a house was inhabited by a demonic presence which traumatized the owners. My priest friend went to the house, met with the Warrens and commenced with the cleansing.Immediately upon entering the house, the lights started flickering on and off and the temperature dropped. He continued going room to room conducting the cleansing and when finished the flickering stopped--the temperature returned to normal. Soon after, the Warren's proclaimed the presence was gone and the house was clean. Now, my friend never discussed the personal experiences of the house's occupants which prompted him to conducted the ritual. However, he being very rational person did say that older houses were know to have faulty wiring and flickering lights was a common occurrence. Moreover, he was suffering with the flu at the time which could account for the drop in temperature. The only thing he couldn't explain was the condensation leaving the mouth when speaking during a hot humid day in July. I guess the truth lies somewhere in the middle. My two cents 👹

There are a bunch of deep dives on them and most of the paranormal community won't go into most of the nasty stuff the Warrens did out of fear of retribution. Fame and money and power corrupt and reveal people. It gets really dark cause some of it was involving kids and people call the Warrens saints. So doing "both sides" is how many have to present things to keep from being cast out of the community. Kiss the ring and assure that only the good is real cause good vibes only toxic positivity runs rampant. Sorry to rant and ramble, learning the truth of them from victims who weren't cut in on the profits really soured them and their legacy for me and the community was a passion of mine.

I grew up in Amityville, I moved there when I was 15, it wasn't until I was an adult that I'd ever heard of the haunting, when I asked my foster Mom about it, she said "oh yeah we went to school with that Defeo kid, he was always a weird one" I just feel like she could've at least mentioned that there was a famous "haunted" house just a few block from my high school, but apparently she didn't think it was important 🤷🏾♀️ I've been to the house (outside only) and as someone who can sense these things (actually maybe that's why Mom never mentioned it) I have never and will never even go down that block on or even near Halloween when the veil is too thin to keep spirits where they belong. I don't mess with spirits at all (I'm a green witch) because it's just way too dangerous, in my opinion. I don't knock other witches, harness whatever energies call to you, hone whatever skills you're comfortable with. But personally, as a Mom, I can't risk opening my family up to something so unnecessarily.

I've noticed with most of the ghost hunter channels, especially the earlier ones such as Zack Baggins and ghost adventures, they start with ghosts and then ramp it up till every episode is "demonic". I guess it's an American thing,here in the U.K, which has ghosts from centuries ago, there's rarely any claims of "demons".

I believe that they did have real experiences but not everything was paranormal. Just like you do with Kris, Sam, and Colby you are able to debunk certain things. Unfortunately they did not have the same technology that we do now so they believed things that could be debunked now were real spooky events. I don't hate them. I think that if they were active in their quest now it would be a whole different story. However, all that being said, what Ed did was disgusting. Everything I have heard and seen about people meeting Lorraine say that she is so very sweet. I think Ed's influence on her brought her into a more negative light. An abusive partner has control that people don't realize. I was in an extremely abusive relationship for years that I was lucky to be able to escape but in the 70's I would have been stuck because of laws. I feel empathy for Lorraine. I think she survived the best she could.

Roger Perron punched Ed in the face and told them to get out. There's the first conjuring movie. The little girl in the second movie was faking it, and David Glatzel outed them when he was older as fakes, only in it for the money. I live 14 minutes away from where they used to live in Monroe Connecticut. Oh, it's Tony Spera. The son in law

I love the Warrens. (Of course the movies are exaggerated.) I do believe they believed they could both feel ‘things’ and help people. I also think that if those people they dealt with also believed, then it likely helped them to cope with whatever they thought had been going on. The power of belief over all is huge…

A house they investigated is down the road from me and still haunted, people move in and out but all the people I knew in the house all had similar experiences. Lorraine once said my town (the next town over & the devil made me do it case of first meeting the entitiy) was one of the most spiritually active towns she has been to and other psychics have had similar explanations.

Ok I'm confused ... Judith moved in with the Warren's in 1963 when she was 15 yeqrs old. Shortly after moving in, Ed started a sexual relationship with her. "That lasted for a few years until his death in 2006". That's not a few years, that's a few Decades!! Did i miss something?

I can't speak on most of this stuff but a lot of the things you reported contradicted itself and my grandparents worked with Ed and Lorraine on a case once and had nothing but good things to say about them except one thing. The Warrens were in Tennessee and were having trouble exorcising demons and 1 spirit from a home where 4 suicides and 2 murders happened. They were in search of a real exorcist and someone recommended my grandpa because there weren't any Catholic priests in the area that were willing to assist (they didn't believe them). My grandpa was a pastor of a non-denominational church and was raised Pentacostal and had performed many successful exorcisms before getting this phone call. My grandma, grandpa, and their 2 daughters and infant son (one was my mom) went to the area from Alabama through the mutual friend. My grandma reported seeing the doorway turn into a giant snake. My aunt reported seeing black masses phasing through the house. There was a rocking chair in the attack that would rock on it's own. There were blood stains in main room's floor that could not be scrubbed up when the house was bought and every time they tried to put rugs over the top of it, blood would seem to seep through and stain the rug even though no blood had been spilled. It was an old, Spanish style house with antique furniture and decor that had a painting of a Spanish woman over the fireplace mantle, sitting in a chair with her hands crossed in her lap, and it would seem like wherever you came from in the house, that's where her eyes were looking. They reported that her eyes didn't follow you, but it was like they would "reset" what direction they faced every time you entered the room from a different place. My grandparents and the Warrens were put up for the night in guest bedrooms and they were planning on exorcising the house the next day before my grandparents went home. Late at night, events in the home started to ramp up. My grandpa never said if any one thing caused him to do this, but all he would say is that the demons would not let him sleep so he had to deal with it right away because he needed his beauty sleep. My grandma carried annointing oil while my grandpa went throughout the house with his bible, reading from Psalms and other verses, pronouncing dominion over all principalities and powers in the name of Jesus, while occasionally dabbing the oil on his fingertip and marking every doorway and window with an oily cross, which the Warrens looked on and from what I understand, Lorraine would tell him where the sources were and my grandpa chuckled at her, smiled, and said "Darlin, I don't need to know where they are or give them any attention. What matters is that I command them to go and they go." according to my grandma. The house was exorcised by between 4-5am and grandpa asked the owners to burn the painting of the Spanish woman. They took it outside and everything burned except the woman's hands; it would not catch fire. After that happened, Ed acted very nervous around my grandpa and I was told he kept saying things to make him seem like he was bigger than what he just witnessed. That was offputting to my grandpa because my grandpa described him as being egotistical. Everyone reported feeling as if the air in the home had lifted and there was a peace in the house afterwards. To my knowledge, nothing supernatural happened in that home again because my grandpa did give the homeowners his phone number and church address in case something popped back up. Also Celina, will you please stop working with Better Help? They're a scam company that sells their clients information. I really wish you and Kris would look into it. :(

The strangest thing about the Lutz's time in the Amityville house is that they bought the house furnished, and slept in the beds that the victims were murdered in. They knew about the murders before moving in. I've read Jay Anson's book, it's entertaining, he points out that the family took advantage of the deaths a year earlier, so they could get a better deal on the house.

Personally speaking, I believe that some of what they've said they experienced did happen, not all mind you, but some. Even with my own experiences I've tried keeping a salt lick's worth of doubt to it, not that it's helped. But, they were one of the groups of people that got the paranormal into popular media and public consideration, so I can't hate them completely. Or doubt that all of their abilities were fabricated. Like everything, the public image is a mix of fact and fiction after all
