Gods green earth❤. Thanks Ramsey. I just cancelled my black tie order. And right away pulled out my Shalimar. You saved me a lot of money. And also I have Ani so don’t need Black tie. I agree with you about Celine scents. Would you still buy eau duelle if you had Ani. It’s been on my wishlist. I love vanilla, so any other recommendations 😂

Try Divine Vanille from Essential Parfums by Oliver Peschoux. It is certainly not vintage but it is a nice vanilla that is not at all overly sweet, plus it is very reasonably priced.

Great reaction Ramsey! I was also very underwhelmed by the Celine line in general. They are nice, safe, predictable, but so boring,,,. The only one was kinda ok~ish was Nightclubbing but it disappeared from my skin in no time. Thank you for your honest opinion!

Hi in the comments 👋 So I’m thinking (I haven’t tried this and have no desire to) just a theory with the vanilla it could be that the vanillin and ethyl vanillin used here was ultra pure and that takes away from its character. It is said the vanillin and ethyl vanillin in shalimar and Guerlain’s in general has a lot of impurities, that gives it its je ne sais quoi.

Vanilla perfumes again! One of my favourite genres but definitely overstays its welcome if you have more than one bottle. I’ll stick to my Ani bottle for now.

Well it is what it is to each individual, as is everything in a persons taste and preference in life. Far from your wheelhouse and mine I wanna say,but this would be most likely delicious to others who gravitate towards this Genre,however factor in the huge price tag and stand back a little and see the woods for the trees .cheers Rams love the cut to the chase honesty 🙏✌️👍

Just so you know it is officially discontinued .... usually the priced skyrocket after discontinuation so as long as its a trusted seller and you have no questions about the authenticity getting it around retail for discontinued Derby is a steal

Gonna have to agree that vanilla is something that needs to be done right. Doesn't have to be heavy or dark, but the blend needs to incorporate some less refined or contrasting facets. Love that little discush at the end too. It's true. Humanity seems to continue to settle for less and less. Standards just keep getting lower and lower in so many areas of life across the globe thanks to clever marketing that it makes my relatively reasonable 1980s ideals look unachievable. 😆 You'd THINK we'd have an transtemporal electrogravitic Delorean available for purchase by now... gawwwwwd! 😤

Definition of style over substance! I've sniffed pretty much all their offerings and I genuinely wouldn't have them given me for free.... they'd just be taking up space. Ps, which of the Thierry mugler pure is it you're on the lookout for?

I have never been intrigued by Celine, which I have always thought was a department store kind of fragrance, plus I thought it was overpriced and underwhelming. But to each his/her own as our noses and loves are all quite different. In any event, and whichever fragrances you talk about, I always enjoy all of your videos.

There is another boring cheap kitchen cooking vanilla called Sorriso by Profumum Roma. Linear and extremely nauseating smell of kitchen.

You’re not crazy Ramsey, don’t worry. Just was able to test the whole line at a Saks in Greenwich,CT the other day visiting a friend. The entire line reminded me of other fragrances out there so not really unique or astounding in any way. Black tie is a nice vanilla but that’s about it, nothing special. And especially not worth it if you are not a big vanilla person. Personally the only one I think is truly unique/bottle worth is Nightclubbing, you might find that one interesting.
