I have nothing but love and admiration for Celine bags that are so low key, stylish, timeless... The classic bag had always been on my radar, but I did not realise just how painful it was going to be! I tell you about the biggest con a bag can have, so much so that it can truly create painful injuries or destroy your clothing....
Also, on the grand scheme of things this is a useless thing to complain about. I am well aware of that. I am just providing you with some entertainment during these weird times all whilst educating myself on the matters that are happening in the world.

Maybe the vintage ones would suit you better - yes it’s definitely a huge designer flaw for the classic box bag which is a shame! Thank you for pointing out this issue...While I love the look of the bag, and admittedly have not seen one in person, I was always concerned with the lock mechanism sticking out from the front of the bag. I was thinking you would not like the fact it is limited in its adjustability.. I did not think of the little metal parts. I own it in a distinctly autumnal color so I ve only ever worn mine in the colder months ! Never noticed a problem but I ve been wanting a smaller box bag in a spring color for a long time !

I actually own a lizard version of this bag, and I’ve had the same issue. I’ve thought about sending to a leather place and have those removed and the strap all stitched like the Hermès Constance strap is! I would never be able to sell it but at this point it’s one I wouldn’t want to part with anyways, it’s super special and beautiful! I love that bag but can’t bear to use more than 2-3 days because of that same issue! It annoys the crap out of me!

first things first: gorgeous color you went for, also excellent choice in going for the goat skin. I really love this bag. And an unpopular opinion on this here: I love all design aspects of this bag, even the strap clasps are so distinctive and clean - visually wise, of course. For me it would not be the same, if the strap would be leather only for example. I actually never have an issue with wearing the strap with the metal clasps on the shoulder. Somehow it works for me without pain or damaged clothes. However I do pay very much attention to not let these clasps move into the bag to avoid scratching the interior as you mentioned. Maybe it would be a little game changer if you try to wear the metal clasps on the front side of the strap, I mean on your front side (bodywise), maybe one or two palms underneath your shoulder. This might hurt you not or less. I hope you get to find your way to wear this bag comfortably because it really is an unmatched design, in my eyes

I have this bag and love it. I agree, if the metal is on your shoulder it does hurt. However, I usually make sure the metal parts are on my back toward the bottom of the bag and they don't move. I hope you figure out a way to make it work.

Yep and yay for the video. I say that's a way of marking someone forever, through beauty and trauma at the same time. You always have to consider what clothes you're gonna wear with the Box Bag, the thicker the top the better, right? So you got such a classic bag but can't wear it all year long. That's really frustrating. Plus, if you actually decide to wear it all stuffed, it just gets worse. Ironically no one talks about this flaw (excepts Carol 😎). Personally the strap has always bothered me - It's too thin. Been questioning if adding another different thicker strap would ruin the look. 🤔

Just to add, I was told by my SA that it is lambskin on the inside :) I'm not sure if that's for all versions. I am so tempted by this bag for fall, winter, spring but I'm concerned the metal will pull at sweaters...

I have this problem too with the strap and it stinks. It’s also damaged a moncler jacket I have. I can only wear this with sweatshirts or wool coats. What’s also frustrating is that this bag cost 500 less now than what I paid for it two years ago .

you're not the only one who complains about the design. It also reminds me of my useless, giant, beautiful Celine phantom luggage, which is incredibly heavy! I carried it once only, it almost broke my bone. I had my computer in it though. but the net weight of that bag is heavy! And the price of that bag dropped drastically, so the second-hand market isn't friendly to me. Now, I'm stuck with it.

There are more solutions but are nit easy to realize! .1- You can take the part in metal to a professional! Asking for removing the gold, round the corner and polish the metal! And gold again the metal! This is the best solution because you will mantain everything. 2- You can go to an artisan and make a copy of the strop with a system without the original metal blocks. 3 You can put an adesihve poliamyde round the corners. It will no hurt more! This tape is practically invisible and super resistent to all! But you will have to cut exactely the portion you need to cover the borders and is not easy! I suggwst you the first option

I have this bag and I love mine! The strap hasn't bothered me as I often wear it with thicker outfits. The only way I can think of is to put a cute twilly on and rock it with different look. If it bothered you too much, sell it. There are so many other classic box style bags out there that you can replace with.

My Celine has a hole under the flap because of the metal clasp on the strap. On top of that it’s full of scratches all over because the 2 little metal clasps and very sharp. I’ve emailed and called them to repair the bag under warranty and after 4 months still waiting. This is the worst designer bag I have ever purchased. I loved the look of it but mine looks so bad after 11 months of owning it. Also, I’m so disappointed with their costumer service. I won’t be buying another Celine bag ever again:(
