Jennifer Hudson has one of the strongest and most powerful voices of all time and that is *all natural* . She doesn't even have to try. The only singer with comparable power is Patti Labelle. I love both and Celine is an icon but whenever Jhud opens her mouth it’s always OVER for me idk but she’s the most crazy vocalist for me it’s insane how she just opens her mouth and boom she in G/A5 with zero efforts , the effortlessness is insane

JHUD clearly has more power up there due to her tessitura and her vocal fach, and more soul. Celine has to mix with her head voice a lot, to the point where the belts above g#5 are very head dominant and less powerful compared to JHud or Patti or Aretha . She does however have more clarity and the headier sound is softer on the ear imo, although less powerful. She also has more agility up there, being able to mimic guitar riffs and so on. Both have pros and cons. In midbelts however Celine is practically unbeatable

It is head voice! Most of Celine's "upper belts" are pure head voice from G#5-C6. She isn't a real soprano, she's a mezzo that uses her head voice skillfully. Her ACTUAL mixed voice ends at around F#5.

@@dededejereme2284 I wouldn't call it clearer, but yes, Celine can be less tense. But the point is that they are using completely different techniques, Celine is mixing, Jhud is belting. And belting high notes is way more difficult than mixing. Jhud is kinda inconsistent but on a good day she can slay even free Bb5's. And Celine has some pretty bad moments, when her voice has zero core. (I highlighted two)
