Thanks for ALL your tips! I live on $1055 month social security. It’s tough but thankfully I live in a hud sponsored apt (in a great neighborhood) in Nj, not in the cheapest areas of the northeast. Your tips are very important to me!

I always enjoy your frugal videos. I was able to get my son a brand new cell phone for free & stay with our same provider. I’m always calling to lower our bill based on our usage. Saving money is so important... and fun. Great video!

That’s awesome you got a free phone with your provider, Debbie! 🙌

That’s great! We got our son a free tablet as long as we pay for a $25/month unlimited plan for 2years. They messed up though and we had to re-do it and they(sprint) refuse to refund me $90 from their mistake on a different tablet we returned. I tried twice filing a complaint with PayPal-how I paid-but that was months ago and they haven’t done anything either. I’m going to call again tomorrow but I don’t think anything is going to happen.

I thank you for this video. I have actually been searching for 2 months for a cheaper service. My phone went out and I had to buy another. It does not work well as I cannot receive a call unless I'm outside. I have a buyer for my phone on the service I have now, but that leaves us without a phone or service. I've been checking MVNO providers but they are all about the same and replacement phones are either too cheap (old) or super expensive (new iPhone or Samsung) I had not heard of Tello in the US, but after watching this video I not only found that we have optimum coverage but that I can also save 30 dollars a month on my size plan or 40 DOLLARS a month if I go down just 1 GB in service. This would allow SO MANY benefits in our financial situation at this time that I cannot even begin to name them all. I also found a phone with HELLO that is one I've wanted for a year and couldn't afford (X3) With the selling price of my phone and service I would be able to buy the phone on HELLO and pay for a month of service! So, I really, really thank you for this video. I actually just found you today and watched your 2 videos on using other items in place of expensive items to prevent wasting money. They were great and showed me so many ways to make changes for the better. I watched 4 others when I came across this one, so it has been a very informative and lucky day! I hope you have as great a day in return 😊♥️

Cell phones are such a huge expense from the purchase to the plans you have to pay for. Lots of great tips Wendy! I love the idea of running speed tests in areas of most usage! Frugal wins!

I have a mechanical tip. It comes from The Tightwad Gazette book. Buy coffee in a store that allows you to grind coffee. If coffee in a package in the store is cheaper than bulk beans, I buy the package but grind-it in store. Turn the grinder to Turkish grind. Grind your coffee. Seal it, pay for it. At home you now only need half the amount of grounds to brew your coffee. A second tip is to take used grounds and store in the fridge until you make more coffee, add 1/2 as much coffee to used grounds and brew again. $7 coffee beans on sale at $5, use 1/2 to brew $5-$2.50, now add grounds to used grounds $2.50-$1.25, now your $7 dollar coffee is down to below $2 for coffee for however long a bag lasts. Best Wishes and Save A Lot

Because all my families internet access is from our phones data I do a lot of this suggestions so that my data isn't being used for updates, but things update automatically when I connect to wifi at the store when shopping. Great video as always Wendy; so informative. Full watch, big like as always! 😊👍

We pay $180 a month or so for 2 phones and two tablets. It’s annoying sometimes but I have rewards I use to earn some of that money back and it’s helpful sometimes like with maps and things flip phones don’t have like that. My work schedule is on an app so I need it.

Great tips! Due to an unfortunate change in circumstances, I have actually found a blessing by being able to remove two devices from my phone service. This allows me to now switch phone services as I am not the one paying for the phones on installment plan. Will definitely be looking into all of these tips. TFS 💜

This is great information. However, I wish you would go a little bit slower so I can actually see what you are doing. By the time the circle is drawn, you are on to something else. Sometimes I have to stop the video and scroll to 'show more' in order to see what it is that you said. Ex: whistleout. In spite of that-you always give good info.

We downgraded, and now have no how no service and use WiFi and we don’t miss it. Between the WiFi hotspots that we get free access through xfinity internet service, iMessage, and the free phone app Talkatone that gives you a number and you can text and call for free over WiFi, it’s a minor inconvenience for huge savings considering I used to have a 5 line family plan. It’s not for everyone but it works for us

It was a Christmas gift from my 71 year old brother for Christmas 3 years ago it is an I phone 8. So I didn't pay for it, he pays for me as well on his military family plan. I'm in Oregon he is in LA and I take care of our 95 year old mom. I was in shock and he told me for all I do for our mama, plus I'm a single mother too. She is 95 now she fell oct. 4 th, devastated me, I had to use up all my vacation to be with her she was so confused. She is my world, I'm 58 and Puerto Rican and we take good care of our moms. I need to figure out a compound interest fund I can start for a small amount and add a small amount every month. I would love to figure out free audible. If it weren't for my big brother I would still have my I phone 4 Lol. I don't plan on getting a new one till this one dies. Just like my iPad it is the one that came out in 2012 and my desktop I've had for 10 years finally 2 years ago took it to a computer shop and they up graded it. I don't want you to think I'm very fancy. I'm so cheap at times I squeak, lol. Being a single 58 year old mom with a mortgage I have to be, right?

Port Rican are NOT the only ones who take good care of thier parents. You are very condescending to say that
@susanvelez65344 жыл бұрын
Rex Carebear NO REX we are not but I was speaking about my own personal situation. I think your a creep for even writing what you wrote to me. Shows a lot of class on your part. There are many cultures that take care of their aging parents. Again, I was talking about my stressful situation. Therefore, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Thank you!

If i change phones, HOW do I TRANSFER DATA ? (Text, email, saved Apps, etc)
@TheFrugalMinimalist4 жыл бұрын
For Android we have had success with backing up to google drive and with Apple we use iTunes backup. We do the backups on the old phone then restore to the new phone. I hope this helps! If you are switching carriers though, normally you don’t need to switch phones.
