I have found listening to the comments and talking to actual people give me more information than when I see on the internet

I agree. And I believe what I see.. or in this case hear, and verify from an unbiased publication like the WRTV handbook.

They'll mess with our communication a little but they won't shut our power down because they need it. The main ability they have is they can intercept and disable a nuke launch. We did it to North Korea a few years back. That's what the wafer shortage is about.

Thanks for mentioning this.

Accurate need expressed on maintaining situational awareness through radio. OTHO, The Emergency Alert System EAS, does not have the ability to turn off your phone.
@genestevens75843 ай бұрын
@DCDura But they do have the ability to not tell you, or turn off the signal. Internet services are interrupted on a daily basis.

They clearly have geopolitical aspirations and they are moving aggressively.

Isnt it crazy that no one hardly uses ham radios in the USA. But we still need a license for one. Same with shortwave radio, it should totally be free to use it also. Shortwave is really dead...

Be kinda a fun to create your own radio station.

I agree. But there's still a lot out there, it's just not ultra easy like the internet. It takes a little work to make it happen.

You need an HF radio. Its WW2 technology but with the right conditions, and the right equipment, you can broadcast thousands of miles easily. But you'll need a licence and its not like a phone.@enahook1715

@@luzhelenahook1715 Thats a semi complicated question. Here are some options; 1. Rapid Radios, these radios are just like the old NEXTEL talk group radios, But they are digital, work through the internet and just might fail in an internet outage, or cyber attack. 2. Citizens Band with SSB (side band) capability. You can talk across the country on sideband, but its hit or miss and requires a larger mobile radio or base station. 3. HAM Radio, Is very viable for long range DX communications but it requires a test and license to use. 4. GMRS, (General Radio Mobile Serice) You need a license for GMRS, but no test is required. You "MiGHT" be able to access GMRS Repeaters. But I'm not in you area. So I have no idea how many GMRS repeaters are in your area or what their capabilities area. 5. Satellite phones; SAT phones are used by military, police and security forces. My guess is that this might be a good bet in a real serious outage. But So would HAM radio.
