Hlo ma'am I have a doubt..... You used flaccid term for the cell which shrink in this video as well as in the chapter transport in plants....everywhere this term is used for the cell placed in isotonic solution...... Which one is right

The resin swell when we put it inside hypertonic solution ..but resin is a plant product that means it must a cell wall then why doesn't its shape remain the same due to cell wall

Raisins are dried grapes,in its dried form it has very minimal amount of water in it which can keep the raisins alive but the cells become incapable to do many other functions hence the shape of the rains get affected.On the other hand when you keep raisins in a hypotonic solution the water goes in and raisins can again start functioning well and hence raisins swell and come to its normal fully functioning size. Obviously Ma'am is teaching us only in the context of cells i.e. how does the cells get affected and not the organism,since we are studying Cells.

Session summary- Animal cell when placed in hypo and hyper sol, endosmosis and exosmosis will occur respectively. The same when in plant cell rupturing does not occur due to the presence of a rigid cell wall.

Humans have many cells,normally animals cells do rupture but in many living organisms these cells are modified into different forms which provides protection.Such modifications varies from organism to organism.
