I gave CELPIP 3 times but I found that they do not have any standardised system, basically, they are still in a developing stage and making money from the people. However, IELTS is really a well-reputed test, you can find tons of practice material free. I gave this test before immigrating to Canada, as a matter of fact, I got 7 in IELTS speaking but after spending 7 years in Canada even CELPIP is not giving me 8 in speaking ( I got 6 twice and the third time 7 ). I believe their system is not fair enough to judge English level. You can imagine stress level in the real exam when you have to attempt full extra tasks in Listening and Reading ( so-called unscored items for development purposes ). Listening part looks like a memory test rather than checking your listening level and Reading seems a confusing test rather checking your real reading ability.

Nice Presentation. Irrespective of the cost, this looks quite easier than IELTS. However, can you/someone please answer below questions, 1. Do we have an ability to highlight the text or paragraph in the reading test? 2. In listening test, after I hear the containts, how much time am I going to get to answer the questions? Any information would be appreciated.

Hello Pankaj, the Reading component does not include the highlighting of text features. For more information about test format, kindly refer to this link: www.celpip.ca/take-celpip/test-format/. The time provided to answer the questions for the Listening component is 30 seconds per question.

In my opinion, the IELTS is far the best ever test as a proof of English proficiency. Nevertheless, the CELPIP is still better than the PTE. In addition, the IELTS is valid in Canada, Australia, Europe, and even tons of American universities accept it, yet the CELPIP is only valid in Canada. Thus, I reckon it's much better to invest in the IELTS as it could be broadly used as mentioned earlier. Regards, Ahmad,

47Sukhoi it's old school...IELTS is only time management.. It's not English test.

Ala'a Sukhni In the first two times I sat for the IELTS, that was my opinion, but after studying harder and boosting my level, I realized that this exam is really the best Englishmeter (this term is not an English one, it's from my own innovation ☺) to test your real level of English. PTE and CILPEP are really time and skills tester rather than core English, I tried the PTE myself and I can confirm that. Hence, it's better to invest in the IELTS as the return on your study is guaranteed, almost nothing is left for chance and luck. Regards, Ahmad,

Kindly give some discount vouchers for people here in Dubai. Alot are planning for immigration but go for IELTS as default test. Some discounts surely will attract more than usual people towards CELPIP and in tough financial times here. Me also planning for it but not able to decide yet due to cost.

I have taken the test 4 times already. I think that it would be better if discounts are offered to persons that take the test more than 3 times due to its quite expensive. Thanks

Not sure why is it as expansive as Ielts 280 and 320 (ielts). Celpip is more Computer base so we cut down the human factor when it comes to speaking then why the price is same as IELTS??
