This would have been the replay of the game that finished 1 each, no extra-time in these days. My dad told me that Rangers had a team of good players with some great players, while Celtic had a team of great players with some world class players. My dad was a Rangers fan, I remember asking him "Dad you must hate Celtic" he said "Naw son, you can't hate great players" my dad was a good guy, and a true football fan.

You won't see any penalty kicks taken now like the one scored here by Harry Hood for Celtic . He actually strikes the ball with the outside of his right foot . Takes a lot of class , confidence and composure to do that . I also remember watching Harry Hood scoring a hat-trick against Rangers in the league cup semi-final at a rain soaked Hampden Park in 1973 . He actually scored four that night but was wrongly ruled offside . Very good and underrated player for Celtic .

Note when Craig scores the OG, a Rangers player (Mathieson I think) runs to congratulate him lol. Craig then tries to boot him but misses. The good old days when you didn't get sent off unless you tried to break someone's leg. There was 104,000 at this game in midweek including me as a very small kid. The atmosphere in Hampden in those days is something which cannot actually be described to anyone that never experienced it. The current stadium has less atmosphere than a dentist's waiting room.

Very true - I know they had to get rid of the terracing on safety grounds, but when they brought in those fancy stands, it killed the atmosphere at so many grounds. One of the many reasons why I haven't been to a game in 30 years.

Jimmy Johnston was a genius ,i know they say Best Pele Marradona are the greats but Jinky for me, even Best said Jimmy was a better player , Euebio said he was the best he palyed against, World Cup German Great Berty Voghts said Jimmy gave hima very very hard time. And both Celtic n Rangers produced some of the best in the game. and ALL were Glasgow

In one of the clips in this game you also seen the other Johnston (Willie) taking m the celtic defenders and getting a shot away Scottish football always produced fantastic wingers back then Willie Henderson was also playing for Rangers that day

Modern-day atmosphere at most grounds nowadays is sterile. They got rid of the terracing in favour of characterless, no-atmosphere stands. They can keep it as far as I'm concerned.
