I love it!! You're instructions were amazing and made what was going to be a complicated endeavor (in my mind) so simple. I made a father/son sweater set (my first knitting project) 46 years ago, and hadn't done a project such as that for many, many years. It had seeded stitch, honeycomb cable, cable, tree of life stitches and they came out beautiful! I never did a celtic stitch (C4F, C4B, etc) and I broke into a cold sweat. You explained it BEAUTIFULLY!

St Patric was Romano British (ish) He was captured by ‘Irish’ pirates and held captive in Ireland. This was just about the time the Anglo Saxons were invading Britain. This pattern was popular on Saxon and British crosses

I am just over the moon! Thank you for your organizational skills and color coding of the different cable stitches, I don't think I would have been able to follow along so easily with the written pattern. This is the second pattern of yours that I have made, the first was the Lace Hearts and I have been thrilled with the finished product. I look forward to wandering through your other videos and website. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing this incredibly beautiful pattern. I'm using it to teach myself how to cable knit, as it's my first every cable pattern, and your meticulousness with the colored charts on the pattern page are phenomenal! Also, it seems like (though, being new, I could be totally mistaken) there's a mistake on Row 10. It states "Row 10: P2, K2, P2, K2, P8, K2, P2, K2, P2 ", but the P8 is coming over a P2, K4, P2 series, and if we are indeed to be knitting the knits and purling the purls on the WS, then it should read: Row 10: P2, K2, P2, K4, P4, K4, P2, K2, P2 . Thank you again! It's been a delight to learn cables with your gorgeous work. :)

Hi, so I’m running into a bit of a problem trying to follow your pattern. I am actually following the “Sample Size” dimensions you gave on the instructions and when I get to row 3, that’s when I run into problems. Obviously, you have to double the cable pattern, but if I double the pattern entirely for row 3 I end up with too many stitches (more than 56 sts) or less than my target stitch number. I will knit backwards to row 2 and try to start over, but end up with the same issue. I have made certain to count my stitches to be sure I have the same number I started with upon CO. The instructions are much easier for a smaller pattern, but not for what I am trying to make which is a scarf about 10” in width or so using 4 weight yarn and size US 9 (5.5cm) needles. I still Knit and Purl the edges like you did in your sample and I didn’t change anything else. Could you maybe also provide instructions where you make the sample size as opposed to the smaller instructions provided? Also, in the cable pattern it will read something like “(CL4F, CR4B) and it gives you the number of times to repeat, however, when you go to repeat you are putting two Pearl stitches next to one another. Are you suppose to do that? Or Knit one in between them before continuing the cable pattern as normal. I hope that all makes sense. If not I can try to reexplain. I know pictures would help but KZbin doesn’t allow us to do that. 😕

thank you for showing this video, I am working on crocheting, however, I just can't get the cable pattern down. I love this pattern and would like to make a blanket out of this pattern. I see you cast on 24 stitches and it creates a panel, would you suggest working in larger amounts, like 48, or 72 stitches, or would you suggest keeping the 24 stitches and sewing the panels together to create a blanket ?

I'll definitely tag you! Do you think it's wide enough for a scarf? Or should I add some garter edging?? I have that green Plucky yarn that would be perfect for this! It's worsted weight, and they suggest knitting on a 7US. So I'm thinking maybe cast on an extra 8 stitches to give me an edge of 4 in garter. What do you think????

Hello, I love this pattern and am planning to try the one with two cables and borders, but Im fairly new to knitting so I don't understand what is meant by "Sts" in the first row of instructions: CO (24 x 2) + 8 Sts. Personally, I would add stitches to either side to make a square. For example, if you would like a garter stitch border and a bit of room around the cable, you could: Cast On 24 + 8 Odd Rows: K2, P2, (CABLE PATTERN), P2, K2 Even Rows: K4, (CABLE PATTERN), K4 Repeat 16 Rows until your piece is the length you desire, then Bind Off!
