I'm so glad I got to see this shit live when they toured with Type O Negative. It was in a pretty small club and their sound was crushing. That Monotheist album was just a masterclass of heavy and it made for such a good live show.

I saw that show in Seattle at the Off Ramp, a little 200 person bar that was featured in the movie 'Singles' as where all the grunge bands got that start, and that I saw tons of small bands at in the 90s, etc.. Crazy to think that a band of CFs status, who influenced everyone and hold up today better than about any other metal band, only played a 200 person club in Seattle. The American metal scene is so limp.

Saw them in Seattle on that tour at the same little club featured in the movie 'Singles' that Soundgarden and all those folks played at. It was a lot of sound for a few hundred person venue.

@@mattkelly3353 I have been watching his interviews throughout the years and honestly, I can't name someone so humble and down-to-earth like him. I think that Iommi and Quorthon are in the same league. Considering the massive influences he has on Extreme Metal. What I've noticed is he just considers himself a metal fan that loves metal and enjoys writing it. None of that primadonna or celebrity behavior or that he thinks that he has God by the balls.

One thing i miss from Monotheist era CF is the drums. Try comparing the drums here and with Triptykons version of Synagoga Satanae.
@ParagonPariah2138 жыл бұрын
Tom said that Franco was the guy who destroyed CF. But for me he was te best drummer... Triptykons versions are poor not only because of lack of Sesa. There's no Martin Erick Ain vocal anymore.

@@ParagonPariah213 Not really. I read an interview with Tom where he said that the reason for CF's disbandment is that Martin didn't want to record an album and Tom wanted. He also said that CF is him and Martin and he can't do it without him. That's the reason.

Such a great music is fucked up by those lyrics of hate. Whats the diference between the crusaders that by force did hidious things in the name of God and people like Ain that do the same with songwriting? Same shit both. Music is music, not preaching the people. And the funny thing is that they come from such a wealthy country as Swiss and they want us to believe that they are in anger lol. If they lived in another country with poverty,unemployment, etc (REAL problems), then I would love to read want kind of lyrics they could write. I love their music, also I love black metal, but all these guys "in anger/hate religion/etc shit" come from Norway,Sweden,Swiss aka "poor" countries with such many "problems"....The problem is not what they are preaching (it goes with the concept of every band most of times) but that they are many people out there that believe them and forget what real life is. If I havent money to eat or a place to stay, my least problem would be if there is satan or not for real....
@jaysonlee439410 жыл бұрын
1st world problems...how else are midclass kids goin to revolt...i think its just too reflect the angst of the music..i love the music too....just goes to show everything is relative to your surroundings...you have a point...maybe you can let your hair grow out and no one will notice....just joking...;)
@boubou2309109 жыл бұрын
The problem is that all those so called rebels (against God, etc) are from so poor countries as Norway, Swiss, etc lmao. They never worked in their lives (thank "satan"for the unemployment benefit they have forever), they are just lazy people, that are boring with their pathetic unmeaning lives, so they rebel against everything to have a reason to live. Some of them are doing that through music. The other problem is that lambs like you read their stupid lyrics and imagine to be in their own shoes (and live their "dream"life without do anything and take money from right and left, and also act like macho men/dangerous,etc). I put my hand on fire that at least once in your life you imagined yourself with corpsepaint. Why to bother? When you'll kick the bucket, after 2 months in your coffin you'll be natural like that. Many humanoids with the same beliefs as you, killed and kill children or torture animals. You'll do it also for the "rewards" you said before? Also are you so sure that for the rest of your life you'll be head over hills, not consider that there'll be at least one time in future that you gonna ask for His help? If a person close and beloved to you is sick and doctors cant do anything, you'll accept it just like that without ask for a help from above? That feeling of presence of God isnt explainable, I agree. But the feeling of the presence of your own one "god"it is. Just look around you. So keep on follow him and be part of the PROBLEM, not a solution. Its much easier. T.G.Warrior, Vikernes and others like them are laughing with you, cause you are not only giving them money (through cd's,dvd's,merchandise,etc) but also believe the bullshit they say and "stands"for. Who is the lamb?

Georgios N. Telas you should check out the Celtic Frost documentary "A dying god" here available on YT to better understand the background of the band. please note, that also in so called wealthy countries such as Switzerland or Norway, there are people not profiting from wealth and evolutioned society. as far as I know Tom G. Warrior grew up under horrible circumstances, which influenced his music. I'm not talking about black/satanic music in general.
