Dark Isle in pipes is so ominous that I never thought to consider it in strings. But it's so peaceful, and still great with the scenery. Thanks Glen... again. I cant afford to go too far from home these days, so I live vicariously through you. :) To whit, I owe you at least nine hours of vacation in north America. Not everyone's place, but all I have.

thank you so very much for this beautiful and heart-tugging country of old. I am sharing so much of Scotland here in Honolulu, Hawaii. and it goes all over the mainland, Canada and the Middle East to our Soldiers of Scottish descent. My grandfather's roots in Scotland--"Angus Alexander MacPherson" - my maiden name.

I love this tune..I've played it many times on the pipes. Though generations seperated, the man was taken from Scotland, but still today, you can't take Scotland from the man! Some day,I'll return to my roots in Cowal. Thanks for posting, mate! Yours Aye! Campbell (Lamont)

Thanks for comments, from a Scotland lover of the Highlands and Isles, visited for the first time last fall! You're right, no where more beautiful, although central VA a close second. My heart is in the Highlands; my heart, it is not here..........................

@NormbrettaMod I live in the North East of England, and I visit Scotland often. Anybody who lives here would know we are much more closer to Scotland culturally than we are to Southern England.

@NormbrettaMod I was born in Scotland, my father is Scottish and my mother is half Scottish, and there is NO such thing as English culture, England is merely a melting pot of nearly the entire world.

Perhaps England has stuck too much to it's collective British identity too much and alas, has lost it's sense of it's self and own exclusive culture for it's own people born native and home grown reared within it's lands, unlike Scotland, which always has kept it's ancient traditional culture and was always careful to separate it from it's collective British identity, and did not assimilate too many foreign cultures and swamp itself out of it's own existence.
