This song is already a bit older, I don't really know why it took so long to finally show it. It is quite a special song for me because I tried to express a very deep topic... As you know I'm from Switzerland, and Celtic culture has its birthplace right around this region, in the center of Europe. My country has therefore been inhabited by Celts for millennia, most notably the Helvetii. Sometimes when I walk through forests or mountains here I get this very powerful thought inside my head that my ancestors have seen the same forests and mountains 3'000 years ago. I don't really know how to describe why this thought touches me so deeply, but it does. I find it incredible that the eyes of an ancestor from 3 millennia in the past have seen the same mountains and lakes as I do now, and I often wonder how they thought and felt and lived. Celtic culture has now been a big part of my life for years and through all the songs that I make I constantly try to come closer to understand them - and ultimately to understand who I am and where I came from.
Anyway, thank you for reading my monologue, I know this probably means much more to me than to you, but I really wanted to share this. =)

Usage rights - please read: I’m posting the usage rights and important information about my music right here in a comment on every new video so that they’re easily accessible to everyone. =) USAGE: If your project (any project at all, movie, photography, websites, live shows etc.) is non-commercial, which means it doesn't earn you any money, then you can use my music for free. Only given credits are necessary, that's the only condition. Credits would be totally fine as a small text in the movie, website etc. written "Music by Adrian von Ziegler". In live shows and other projects where including a text would be difficult, an oral mention would suffice as well. =) On KZbin and twitch you can also use my music for free even if you monetize your videos by the way! ANY school projects have automatic free permission to use my music, no license payment is required. If the project is commercial, meaning it makes money in any way (except KZbin and twitch, see above), you would have to buy a license for the music you want to use. The license payment would be small in almost all cases except for big budget productions. It would be a one-time payment, so you can use the music you bought forever in that project. It does not give you any rights over the music however, so remixing the music, re-selling it etc. is not allowed. Giving credits is also necessary in commercial projects. Please note that "for free" only applies to the usage license. Music is my full-time job and is where 100% of my earnings come from. So no matter what you use my music for, whether it's commercial or non-commercial use, I appreciate that you purchase the music instead of downloading it for free. Many people misunderstand this part so I need to clear this up. I love making music, but if everyone would just get it for free I would not be able to pay rent, so please understand. It was always my dream to make enough money to survive with music being my only job, and that is only possible because of people who go and buy that music. Remixing, sampling and other forms of altering the original song into a new piece of music is also generally not allowed unless the remix is 100% non-commercial and labelled with the original title and author of the song (me). Adding bird noises, nature sounds or similar things are allowed. Nightcore alterations are also allowed while non-commercial and labelled with original title and author (Google "Nightcore" in case of confusion). So if your project is non-commercial or a KZbin project, just give credits and there is nothing holding you back from using my songs. ANY song you want. =) If it's commercial stuff just write me a personal message or an email at adrianvonziegler@gmx.ch and inform me about the scale and details of the project and we'll make a deal. REQUESTED MUSIC: I have recently made a very good experience with collaborating with other artists and am now - carefully - open to requests. Please note before sending me a request that any agreement will have to assure me a high level of control and independence over the composing process and certain copy- and intellectual rights over any composition that has been created on request (this entails for example that I can still upload and sell any music that I composed for a given project). Important: I do not allow my music to be used in any project that has a clear political, racist or discriminatory message or is pornographic. By that I mean anything that goes from direct political, racist or discriminatory videos or underlining speeches with my music, onto remixing my melodies into a song that has lyrics with clear political, racist or discriminatory message and similar things that clearly promote these things. Same goes for explicit pornography. Media with nude art is allowed, if not pornographic in nature and purpose. I hope you're having an awesome day, and thanks a lot for being interested in my music! =)

As a child of the Celtic diaspora, here in North America/Turtle Island, we were sent far away from our ancestral roots to grow, settle and thrive elsewhere in the world. I have grown up with a mix of Scottish ancestral music and First Nation traditional drums and songs. We are the life lines of our ancestors and the 7 generations to come. I still sometimes feel like a wandering spirit but your music and the drums of my local elders are guides to deeper reflection on what ancestry and belonging means. Thx for the music.

It seems to help me part the veil between this world and the world of our ancestors, to be able to commune with my beloved Grandmother, who taught and showed me so many of the Old Ways, as she used to call it. Wishing you a blessed Samhain, Dearthair. From North Carolina, USA🇺🇸 ⛤Blessed Be⛤

Dear Adrian I read your monologue and i just want you to know that i feel the same thing as you. Every time i walk on a landscape, i can't unthink myself that maybe from millenia ago, my ancestors were seeing that same landscape that im seeing now. Thats why im in love with your music, because everytime you put a music on youtube, there is always a part of the world in it, a part of history, and a soul who lived so many lives. Like a human, man or woman, who can see his other past life. through my eyes, i can see what my ancestors saw on that landscape. and maybe it was me then. we dont know XD. but I digress of what i was saying. i hope you read this. i know you read a lot of ''Love letters'', if i write you, its simply because i understand you and im sharing you thought that i found so beautiful and you put it into music, its an appreciation that im sharing, and once again, im in love with that piece. Please, continue to share pieces of the world through your music. Thanks

I precise that i'm not an Asatru at all. To my opinion Asatru is a wrong way, it's a religion, like christianism or islam. There is rules, prayers ect ... Paganism is different, it's a spirituality of freedom, tradition and philosophia. No rules, no good, just respect and beauty. But I don't blamed you, it's always better than monotheism or atheism ...

One Navy veteran to another, I understand completely. Seems like everyone I served with (who are still alive) have all been touched by ol' Arther, myself included. My ancestry is primarily Irish and Norse, and this piece--like many others in the "epic" genre--will likely bring about some inspiration for a scene in one of my novels. I can feel it. I've given credit to several musicians and/or composers already for their works having inspired scenes in my stories. Hoo-yah!

It's so beautiful to see the others comments about how they feel so connected with their ancestors. But when it comes to me, I just feel like a lost, broken child that has been abandoned in the woods and forgotten... I don't feel any strings connected to my history. My family were migrants who traveled from today's south Germany and west Polen to russia and back. Some also traveled to canada and stayed there. But I was born into this land into a family without any roots or stability. There's so much broken about my inner child, so when I close my eyes I just feel a pair of arms around me that hold me close and I like to believe that it's the baby my mother lost before she got me. I have half sister but no "real" siblings, so this angel sibling is the only string that belongs to me. I like to think that this angel sibling is watching over me and being my guardian angel... I need this hope to stay alive...

Adrian von Ziegler, thank you for this music (Celtic Music - Walking With The Ancestors). When I was a kid, I was more often in the forest in the Minahasa Land. Your music has brought me to the world of my childhood, when I and my parents still lived in the land of the Minahasa tribe. My father is from the Toraja tribe and my mother is from the Minahasa tribe. When I hear this music, my soul enters the world of my ancestors. When I heard this music, honesty, simplicity, sincerity, fortitude and courage of my ancestors had seeped into my whole soul. Through your music, the spirit of my ancestors became manifest in my whole soul. Once again, thank you for feeding my soul. ---- © Blacktator.

Reading your monologue I realized that I do too often think about what my ancestors must have seen. I rarely get out into nature (unfortunately) but in the city I think about what everything must have looked like in the past. I live in Munich between the Olympiapark and a big road- luckily not too close to that road. Some day I got to know that this road, the Landsuther Allee, hasn't been there when my moher was a child. There were just a small road and lots of trees. Today all the traffic on this road really brings up the exhaust fume count in Munich :/ I pass it nearly every day and am so desperate to know what this place, this street looked like when my mother was a child (~40 years ago) and when she and other children used to play in the snow there. What also blows my mind is that my family used to have horses and dogs and chicken in our garden- also when my mother was a child. Where the horses once lived are now a garage and a garden. It sure is a big garden compared to what's normal in Munich- like no space for garden- but I can't imagine it to be big enough for a chicken coup and a horse shed xD I live in a flat in a house that belongs to my family, next to a house that is ours as well and I once asked my mother about who lived in the other flats before the current renters. She looked at me and asked me if I was sure that I wouldn't know that and I was wondering how I could. She told me that family members lived in every flat and that a store and before that a hair salon were at the groundfloor. Long story short: I think a lot about what everything must have looked like and how my ancestors perceived that. I'm quite interested in where my family comes from and thanks to my grandfather's precise work on our family tree I know a lot about my father's side of the family. A relative from my mother's side of the family also worked on a family tree through which she discovered lots of old pictures and documents. It's crazy to see all the similarities throughout the generations and although you have zero idea about who these people were there's an extremly strong connection and you want to know as much as you can about them. I wish I could know my ancestors. We found out where an acestor's grave is who fought in world war two and somehow I really want to go there- I think it was in Denmark. I could write about this for hours and tell you how in a strange way I felt deeply connected to Ireland when I was there and it has a similar vibe to what you've discribed in your monologue or how I felt that sense of peace recently when part of our house's facade got renovated having been destroyed in world war two. The past is such an incredible somehow magical and ungraspable thing although there's so much evidence for everything and we know that it had to be there like every day we have experienced so far. Your music is always fueled with inspiration and passion, a story and it really shows. Your work is incredible, I love it ♡ Thank you and I wish you a great night, day, week :D

Sometimes I wonder when the ancestors came to a place and said: "Yes, this will be our home." They meant it because the place looked beautiful and useful, practical. So in someway they wanted to protect the place, the hills, and the forests, etc. But in case of industry they had to put away some unsaid rules. But now, when we don't especially need wood for keeping a house warm, don't have to use woods or real animal furs nor bones for most of the things because now we can make silicones, plastics, etc. Now we should/can go back to our nature respecting, loving traits. Some people started already. Do using Internet and electricity but not for everything. And to that news I was astonished. In this era somebody wanted to go back so much to that. I think it was wonderful that they could do that.

Hauntingly beautiful composition. Adrian, you must have Celtic blood running through your veins. This would be a perfect piece to play during the festival of Samhain, when the veil between this world and the world of our ancestors is thinnest and can be parted. Keep this up. ⛤Blessed Be⛤

Thank you for your story, it does mean a lot to me. I feel really drawn to Celtic music and art but did not know Switzerland was part of it, I always think about England... I myself live in the Netherlands. We have no mountains or ancient forest, that is why I love visiting England, the history, every thing is still the same as it ever was, peaceful and magical. Indeed: seeing what others have seen for thousands of years 😊
