I am *obsessed* with the Irish Book of Invasions. I also have no issue with Wicca, but am glad we seem to be entering an era where there are more sources available for alternatives outside of that lens

I have been enjoying all your content so far because I have scottish, irish, germanic, and Scandinavian heritage. And yes, they were all pagan at one point before the crusade against them. I will be getting some new books soon, thanks!

Check out the book Celtic Myth and Religion by Sharon Paice MacLeod. She does not include Wiccan or new age material. Glad you included OhOgain's book, it's great! Also check out Handbook of the Scottish Gaelic World by Michael Newton and Folklore of the Scottish Highlands by Anne Ross. Also culturally accurate works that don't include Wicca or new age.

I suggest the book Dialects of Ancient Gaul if you’re looking for linguistics in the language. Seriously the book is about as big as an old school Bible. Lots of info & material

Looking forward to this. Im Irish-American, and there seems to be some resentment about those of us who identify that way. It makes the study of Irish Celtic mythology... touchy. Never could afford to join ADF. I identify as Irish Amercan, because my geneological history has Irish refugees in every single generation, and it is my refusal to accept the burden of English/European colonisim that is automatically dumped on anyone with white skin in North America.

I'd also recommend Evangeline Walton's translation of the Mabinogion. I'll skeptical of Edain McCoy - she strikes me as a pop pagan author who takes as much license with Celtic source material as I do (and I write urban fantasy). A couple of these I'll have to check out - I went to Scotland in 2022 and was awestruck by the Isle of Skye. Combined with my pagan past and relatively recently discovered Scottish ancestry, I want to dig more into the lore of Scotland.

"Táin" = "Táin Bó Cúailnge" (Cattle Raid of Cooley). Most seem to pronounce it "Tawn-bo koo-all-neah"

Then you need Archeological books on earlier celts to decipher what was changed and wasn't:) Dáithi Ó hógáin book you showed is great Miranda J green, Miranda alehouse green like you mentioned great Get Celtic Archeological discoveries in Iberia and Portugal as well as Greek and Roman sources as well as Linguistist books world symbolism books on spirals and , Barry Cunliffe is great also Pre Celtic myths of pre Indo European origins so far do to Archeological discoveries in Gaul and Hispania it is Hinduism based mixed with neighboring myths like Greek,roman myth And Some Slavic depending on the figures and some Germanic because Gauls lived with Germanic tribes in Gaul so that depends. To be Celtic pagan or indigenous which I prefer indigenous is use every scholarly source to break down later myth and discover what characters in the medevil period we're real and made up later. Also French folklore books has Celtic myth in them from the Gauls which is important Basque mythology is Celtic mixed with Vascone and Iberian myths Basque mythology can't leave that out either.

Also as a Galician American I know a fair amount about the celtic rooted Fairytales/Mythology which often tells alot about the ancient pagan beliefs. Maybe worth an episode to cover the "celtic fringe"
