In these days of no away allocation at old firm games. Just look how many Rangers fans there were at Celtic Park that day. And the thousands of Celtic fans there would have been at Ibrox for the return game. Sadly there won't be that kind of numbers at each others ground ever again.

25.000 tickets we got used to be more before the made a steel barrier for other away supports at parkhead.We also got front and rear sections of the main stand as my auld da took me to the stand, when I got older into my teens I went with the troops.The old parkhead was a great stadium my favourite away ground as it was so easy to get to living in the east end.Rangers v Celtic at the old terraced ibrox it was 60 -40 as it was a bit bigger. Celtic got the full Celtic end west enclosure a section of the main stand and part of the centenary stand around 35.000 fans Rangers had around 50.000.Used to go to greaves in sauchiehall street and buy as many tickets as we wanted.The 70s games were very violent always trouble before ,during and after with the gangs battling it out usually among themselves till they got out the grounds.People can make it a family affair now my brother in law takes my sister the grandkids to the hospitality at parkhead my neices and nephews have season tickets for Celtic as well it'll never be like the old days.

Keith William MacHendry ..lucky you , ma 1st game v that mob was the 3-1 defeat at the piggery later in the season ..they scored two early penalties and we couldnt claw it back . Winning the league at pittodrie was so special tho ! 🐻⚽️🇬🇧

Who was the rangers number 7? Lofts a ball into the box on the 12:05 mark. Thought it was Souness but then seen him suited up in the stand later on.

I heard a story about this match. The section behind the dugouts contained both sets of fans and caused a riot in the toilets at half time.
