My first old firm game.I'm an Aussie who was living in Belfast from 86 to 92. I'll never forget those times.Go the Gers.❤

When you watch all the OF matches from the 80s the thing that grabs you most is the skill level they have at the pace of the game. Cooper, Burns, McStay, Durrant, Ferguson, Grant - all of them at their peak could have played in England. No bother. These matches from about 1983-89 were dynamite. The 4-4 match at Ibrox was the greatest match I ever saw. And the only time both sets of fans were applauding both teams at the end. Was astonishing.

I have always thought that Davie Cooper should have a statue outside Ibrox of him being hoisted aloft by his teammates after scoring that winning penalty. I can't understand why the great man hasn't got a full statue there yet!

Still find it hard to forgive him, broke my heart, remember where I was when I heard he signed for the dark side😉 he was second only to Mcstay in my head, loved him, how could he, baffling, it's so wrong, its like mcoist playing for us, no thanks, don't you dare pull on our beloved hoops ally!!! Just wouldn't want him, we'd boycott paradise until he got himsel tae f×××, it's just no right, can't think of a bigger no no, ruined his life, now BOTH sides hate him!!!🤔😉, I was 15 when he he did the unthinkable, it hurt me and changed something inside my gut, took years to realise that he has obviously got mental problems and issues he hadn't resolved since childhood, hope he's a decent person now and he understands that loyalty and honesty are two VERY important if not THE most important things in life, rangers are awful but all the best anyway,😉🏴

The games were much more end to end fast and exciting in those days, I like how there's much more dribbling and running. Today its all pass pass pass jogging pace or even standing still boring. I don't think they teach or encourage dribbling in training these days especially any rangers training videos with Gerrard obsession with passing in little circles. The aim of the game is to score goals not pass it around in your own half for half an hour. Even the standard in commentary is awful today compared to those days. You know its true when it's not just older people but people who weren't even born at the time saying it was better then.
