the violinist playing and dancing is truly gifted. i always thought you need to be still when playing the violin. this is fabulous. she does it even more vigorously in other songs. congratulations for such god given talent!
@coffeepot135 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, but in this case it's a "fake violin". She's not really playing. The real musicians are behind the stage, a little hidden. It's beautiful, but I'm disappointed in things like that ...
@ThePerksdeLeSarcasmeSiorai5 жыл бұрын
Nathk SHUT UP !!! I’ve been to their concerts THRICE and she played live in all of them (I was sitting in the cockpit area in one concert). Mind you that our ears can hear the difference between live performances and playback. Máiréad Nesbitt is a gifted fiddler who has been playing violin since she was 6 years old so she doesn’t need pull BS stunt like that. Celtic Woman has over 50 concerts a year during each of their tours. What kind of money do they have have to support the “behind the scene musicians” playing for her ? Again, SHUT UP before spewing any more lies and deception.
@coffeepot135 жыл бұрын
No. I will not shut up! Do not be childish! I'm referring to this video, and I've never seen a performance of this group that does not have playback. If you saw it, that's good for you!
@ThePerksdeLeSarcasmeSiorai5 жыл бұрын
TheOne WhoWelds I wouldn’t call Lindsey Stirling a moving violinist but more of a walking violinist. How come ? I watch her music videos and whilst she’s good, she mostly walks, runs, and turns around whilst Máiréad dances across the stage in high heels. If both Lindsay and Máiréad are performing on the same stage at the same time, Máiréad would certainly outdance and outperform Lindsey. Lindsey is talented but she is definitely not on Máiréad’s level. Even experts say that Máiréad’s skill is so perfect that she makes Lindsey seem amateurish.
@dalezylstra58095 жыл бұрын
@@coffeepot13 that is what is called talent. when I play my fiddle, I can hold my own, but I am still playing notes. Máiréad, plays music. is there a back up orchestra? of course, they play through the whole concert. you have only to watch her many videos, both with Celtic woman, and without. she has a very rare, God given talent, very few have.

Touched by this comment. My mom showed me the original Celtic Woman DVD for the first time after I listened to their CD and I think she had gone to a concert of theirs at the louisville palace with my grandma and her friend. Grandma passed in 2020 right before all the crazy and I just went to see them with mom dad and my sister. I wish Grandma had been there to see them even with a totally different cast but I also know she's dancing like Mairead in heaven right now.

Well, the ladies of Celtic Woman also sing beautifully in English here, not only Gaelic. For example: "Tell me that the night is long/Tell me that the moon is glowing/Fill my glass and sing a song/And we'll start the music flowing/Never mind the rising light, there is no sign of day or dawning/In my heart, it's still the night, and we'll stay until the morning/Fill the glasses one more time, and never heed the empty bottle/Turn the water into wine, and turn the party up full time!" There is another video where not only is she dancing and playing her violin but she has bare feet. That young lady makes me proud to be part of the human race.
