Why are the Celtics the odds on favorite to win the title? It's free cash to bet against them winning. Any team who's top 2 players and head coach are choke artists will never win a ring. The Porzingis excuse doesn't work also because the Cavs don't have Jarret Allen and still lit them up. Plus the Celtics couldn't clean sweep the Heat missing not just Jimmy but also Scary Terry. The Knicks have unfortunately become the Final Destination of basketball. Players just getting taken out one by one. Julius already gone then Embiid injuring Mitch. Oubre injuring Bogy. And then they lose OG with possibly Jalen Brunson being next. The Celtics are literally being handed the ECF at this point. smh.
@davidriedy5977Ай бұрын
There really is no reason why the Celtics shouldn't have an easy ride to the Finals this year. Miami wasn't healthy (they never seem to be). I didn't expect Cleveland to really do anything. I maybe had some hope for NY but not if they too are injured significantly-and OG and Brunson are significant injuries. I don't want Boston to win so I'm pretty much hoping whoever comes out of the West can get the job done. But man is it funny to imagine Boston choking so bad they don't even make it out of the East-probably a historically weak East in a conference that has really always been historically weak in the last 20+ years or whatever. If they can't get it done THIS year, what year will they ever get it done? We will see what happens Game 3 though. Sort of a similar story to round 1 where they blow out Miami Game 1, lose at home Game 2 (scoring 40 points in the 2nd half of that game also), but then proceed to blow out Miami the next 3 games

I've always thought that having both Tatum and Brown was going to be the Celtics downfall. It could be how Tatum processes the game in his head, but there are plenty of games when Tatum AND Brown try hero ball when it's not needed. That's not a coaching problem. That's understanding how dumb plays affect the outcome of games...so selfish tendencies cost them? I'm leaning towards that when it comes to Boston. They need to run more of the offense through Jrue and let him set those 2 guys up in their spots...not what I've seen from Tatum all season in these one shot and done sequences.
@user-yb7zz9cc9s29 күн бұрын
That is coaching though because Mazzulla always defaults to Tatum to take these "hero" ball shots. He said so himself, as a matter of fact. How a team palys is very much coaching. The coach's job is to make sure the ship is steered properly to get to where it needs to get to.

If Boston doesn't make the Finals AT MINIMUM, not only does the HC needs to be fired, but the roster may have to be blown up. There is no reason for them not to make it, especially with the best player of each major challenger is either hurt or compromised. Heck even Halliburton from the Pacers haven't been right since he came back from injury. New York is beaten up. This reminds me of the Dubs first championship, in which every one of their opponents was out with their point guard. That series with the Cavs is to me LeBron's crowning achievement. He almost single-handily beat the Warriors and probably would have if he didn't run out of gas. He led both teams in multiple categories and should have won the MVP.

Skap did not say the Celtics will lose at the end of the day. He merely stated that they have the tendency to choke hard even when the odds go overwhelmingly in their favor. 5:33 summarized it best.

As a Celtics fan this type of play is getting so tiresome

I like scab attack, but he can never ever say anything negative about Luka and Jokić. These guys are perfect players to him, but he can take a crap on everyone else. It sucks to be everyone except for Luca and Jokić
