Skap! Excellent vid. MJ, Kobe, Duncan, Hakeem, Magic, Bird: like many others, I put them all ahead of LeBalco because they stayed with their teams through the vast majority (or all) of their careers. Steph, Dirk, David Robinson, Manu, Parker, Worthy, McHale ... right up there as well. Even Kareem only changed teams once (after 11 seasons with Milwaukee, and he won his 1st ring in his 2nd season). KG & Dwade, stayed on their respective teams for 12 seasons in a row, so they get some cred (DWade not as much). Dirk: his whole career, 20 seasons, with Dallas. Only one ring, but that one ring is worth as much as LeFlops 3 rings (which were paid for, and the 4th ring was fake). So Dirk will be and remain an absolute LEGEND in Dallas. Question: when LeFake goes into the HOF...which team jersey will he wear? Hmmm? Answer: WHO CARES!?!?!?!? 🤣🤣

Great vid as usual, but when discussing how stacked the East was, you forgot to mention the Cavs. Coached by Lenny Wilkens, 3rd all time in wins in NBA history, and starring Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Ron Harper and Larry Nance, that team was loaded. They were actually considered one of the teams to get out of the East the season they played the Bulls in the first round, but Jordan had other plans.

From 1984 to 1998, the Eastern Conference dominated the Western Conference in their H2H match-ups 10 times out of 15 seasons. During the 2003 season, the Eastern Conference was rebuilding for a decade and was mockingly coined the Leastern Conference as the Eastern Teams only had a single winning season in 15 seasons (1 out of 15) against the Western Conference Teams, that it forced the NBA to dissolve the All-Star teams and change it to a mock-draft to balance the talent. Even in 1998, the 2nd-year Iverson-led 76ers had an overall record of 31-51. They had a winning record against Western Conference teams with a 15-13 (.536) record, while they have a losing record of 16-38 (.296) against the more competitive Eastern Conference. Even the league-worst Toronto Raptors had a better record against the West 9-19 vs. East 7-47. 2000s-2010s were the All-Rebuild Eastern Conference, as the players drafted from the late 90s have gotten older.
@peterguidry60845 ай бұрын
That is a weird way of bringing up stats. The 80s were dominated by the Eastern Conference teams. Most of the 90s were dominated by the Western Conference teams 6 yrs from 89-90 season to 94-95 season was dominated by the West in head to head matchups The last 4 yrs from 95-96 to 98-99 the East beat the West more. If you look at the 90s as a whole...the Western Conference was the better conference both record wise, more consistency and with the most contenders and all the MVPs except Jordan came out the West. The East had the Best team in the NBA in the Bulls but won in the weaker conference in most yrs The East was highly inconsistent in contenders to challenge the Bulls and it changed from yr to yr. One yr Pistons, one yr Cavs, 2 yrs Magic, 1 yr Atlanta, 1 maybe 2 yrs Indiana, 1 yr Miami The second most consistent team was the Knicks. Sonics, San Antonio, Houston, Utah, Lakers, Phoenix were all contenders at minimum 3 plus yrs. Portland at the very beginning of the 90s for about 2 yrs West was the better conference 89-90 90-91 92-93 93-94 94-95 ...West was better by a mile 95-96 ....were top heavy in the east with Chicago and Orlando but the West had better teams 97-98 .....West destroyed the East East was the better conference 91-92 96-97 The West had to beat each other up just to face the Bulls in the Finals.

The journey is more important than the ring IMHO. 5 v 5 professional basketball is a team sport. The best player cannot win without some decent help which they cannot provide themselves. That's why team-mates, coaches and front offices exist. The best players play hard, year in and year out, for as long as they are able. There are a number of players with 1 or no rings that I respect and rate over players with quite a few.
