A few of those guys you mentioned surpassed him later but they were still coming into their own during this time. Steph was an injury riddled player with bad ankles, Kyrie was drafted in 2011, Dame 2012, Derron was nice but he never got the respect he deserved and recognition to be in that top 3 discussion.

Both players have attributes that one player might be better than the other. Both players made significant impacts on any team they played with in different and similiar ways. However, Prime Rondo before the injuries was top 3 best point guards in the league (DRose, CP3, Rondo) and top 15-20 best players in the league at that time. If Rondo was healthier in his career and had better coach-player relationships with his coaches after he left playing for Doc Rivers, his name and accolades would be heightened. If your NBA team was a "middle of the road" type of team, and Rondo was given the keys to orchestrate that team as the leader, he would have that team playing way above expectations. He did it in New Orleans, Sacremento, and in Chicago. Not sure if Jrue has or could do that. But much respect to Jrue for what he does bring to the team and his impact on the game.
