The Indian Cement Industry is the 2nd largest in the world and continues to grow at 10% per annum. As a cyclical commodity, cement shares go through periods of high & low valuations which presents investors a unique and timely opportunity to invest & makes over 50% returns in a short period of time.
In this video, I focus on the foundations of the cement business in India and more importantly, the 4 key metrics that investors need to look out for when deciding to invest in cement companies. In that context, I shall be comparing India's top 5 cement companies i.e. Ultratech Cement, Shree Cement, ACC, Ambuja Cement and Dalmia Bharat Cement. I'm sure you are aware of this but I'll still say it: the Adani Group has recently picked up majority stakes in ACC and Ambuja Cement.

Hi Sarthak - glad you found the video useful. For some time now, I have started to look beyond broad specs like PE ratio, PB ratio etc. To put it differently, say, someone shows me an ocean standing on a beach and asks: "what do you see?" I'll say: "I see a lot of water" (that's the PE or PB ratio) Now, he puts on a scuba gear on me and takes me 500 meters in. He asks again, "what do you see?" I'll say: "Wow! I see corals, jelly fish, plants, shells, sand" For me, that's what an industry/sector analysis should serve. I'll continue to improve on this with other sectors but try to focus on the key points within a 20 minute capsule. Thanks again for your kind appreciation.
