Thanks for the video! Very awesome! Can't wait to get back into Murray when it warms up, and find this site.

A person with great writing ability and imagination could put together a great horror novel. A Lake built and flooded over towns and cemeteries. Indian burial grounds. Lots of possibilities…

Perfect weather for a dip! How deep is the graveyard at? The new diver and single tank pushing me to say it's no deeper than 60ft. Regardless looks well worth a visit.

It's a little hilly in that area but the depth is mainly around 20'. 😁

@@SouthCarolinaScubaDiving ohh nice. Nice easy site then! Least that makes exploring the whole thing pretty accessible.

Why didn't they move the cemetery and the bodies before they flooded it?

The Families were given the option to have them moved. It was the 1920's, a different time and way of thinking. Most Families opted to leave their loved ones in their final resting place. In some cases they put a concrete slab over the grave to prevent washout of the grave. Other graves had no living next of kin and they were left as is. There is actually a book made from the compiled records of the Lake builders listing all the graves and their locations and if they were moved or left and the reason if left. Very interesting history!
