Cempaka Banjarbaru Traditional Diamond Mining Trip | Pumpung Village Tourism, South Kalimantan

A trip to a traditional diamond panning tourism object located in Pumpung Village, Sungai Tiung Village, Cempaka District, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. Travel 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Banjarbaru to the tourist area of ​​Pumpung village.
At the entrance to this village tourist site, we will first see a Trisakti diamond monument which was built as an inscription that near this location a diamond the size of a dove's egg was found in 1965 which President Soekarno named the Trisakti Diamond. This discovery was very shocking at that time because the diamond weighing 166.75 carats was worth 10 trillion rupiah and was immediately taken to Jakarta along with the 13 people who discovered the diamond.
From the monument to the diamond panning location it is not far and currently this area will be used as a tourist attraction and is still under construction for a museum by the South Kalimantan Provincial Tourism Office and will make it unique.
The search for diamonds also uses some simple equipment such as a suction machine and an assembly tool to filter the material before panning is carried out with a pan or called linggang by the Banjar people.
The raw diamonds from the diamond miners will be processed or cut to make jewelry and the place to sharpen or polish the diamonds will be sent to Martapura as the center for selling and polishing diamonds and gemstones.
