If we are being honest, people like Cenk don't argue in good faith. They are constantly using whataboutism, emotional appeal, or leaving out key details to twist the narrative in their favor. And he has a law degree from Columbia, so this isn't just the case of him being a moron. He knows what he's doing. After witnessing him operate in such a bad faith way, I don't understand why anyone would listen to him on anything. He's clearly an ideologue who wants to push agendas. Your comment shows you were not listening to Cenk. He was saying that being chased doesn’t constitute the right to murder. He makes the same connection to the justification of “being lunged at.” It is obvious that these two examples of being chase by someone a non lethal weapon and lunged at are not justification for murder. This is why Cenk rightly connects this to the “disastrous stand your ground law.” If you believe that people should have the right to murder based off of these examples then you have created a open season. The only one pretending to be a tough guy was Rittenhouse. A young man who went into a community that was not his own, brandishing his weapon like a police officer which he was not, to then play the victim which he isn’t.

Cenk clearly hasn't done his research on this one. The same goes for most people who thinks Rittenhouse was in the wrong. All the comments I have seen opposing Rittenhouse are spreading misinformation which was debunked during the trial. If people watched the trial and the plethora of video evidence provided, then it's impossible with a sane mind to oppose the actions of Rittenhouse. This was a clear case of self-defense, as Rittenhouse's life was directly threatened on multiple occasions.

Because you are committing a crime onto another person. So if a person pushed you and then you shot them. You would be arrested for murder as you were the aggressor the entire time. The problem with your scenario is that Kyle was NOT "brandishing a firearm". Simply being in possession of a firearm is not brandishing. I think it is because it takes less than 15 minutes of actually reviewing the video footage and the facts to completely exonerate Kyle Rittenhouse. Kyle's fame/infamy is from one night, He's not a decades-long controversial figure like with Donald Trump or various polticians. I don't religiously follow Bonnell III aka Destiny because he makes so much videos, so I am not sure what sample size I need to get an idea of his values and takes, but this is like the one take I am aware of most. That he is a rare apparently "leftist/liberal/progressive" whatever famous opinion-haver commentator that admits that Kyle Rittenhouse is not a murderer.

The evidence that should not have been withheld and what we know about human development tells us that Rittenhouse's judgment would have been diminished by the teenage inclination to try to show off to one's peers. Also, teenagers are just less down to Earth. They don't understand how to cope with aggression, like Destiny who is basically a man child who plays video games for a living, uses meth, dates immature women, has a teeny haircut, etc. Destiny also is the wrong type of person to own a gun, openly stating that he'd shoot anyone who menaces at him with a skateboard or chases him. 2. What we know about the Proud Boys and other online hate groups the likes of which Rittenhouse was an active participant, is that they go around pretending to be police, ignoring police orders, and saying they're "just paramedics" to fly under criticism. Rittenhouse was not a paramedic and was not old enough to be a paramedic. The fact that he lied about this showed that he was willing to commit fraud to deceive everyone into believing that he was old enough to carry a gun. Nonetheless, many witnesses stated that they thought Rittenhouse was a kid and looked too young to be there. I don't really have to argue beyond this. There are only two facts necessary that would have forced the judge to demand that the jury render a guilty verdict. 1. Was he underage. 2. Did the crowd suspect as much. If the answer is yes, you must rule guilty. Your subjective morality is irrelevant, beyond that. But the judge did not even allow questioning along these lines, showing clear prejudice. But there are a few more good reasons to think of Rittenhouse as guilty. For example, his total lack of remorse, even to this day. The crocodile tears during the case, which was a disgusting display, and typical of guilty parties, etc. But if you really want to go into the morality issue, again Cenk is right.... Rittenhouse could have walked away many times but continuously instigates the first fight. As adults, we all find ourselves in these situations. We usually have enough wisdom and charisma from years of life experience to navigate our way through them with our words. Did Rittenhouse serve as a deterrent to children, telling them they'd at least be charged as children if they were too immature to make a reasonable effort to deescalate ? No. So the judge ignored his duty to the community. And the kids killing kids problem has gotten worse

It’s not even true tho, at least in terms of the rifle. The rifle was owned by a friend who let Rittenhouse use it in Kenosha, so it never crossed state lines. Also, Kenosha was only a few minutes away from his place, he worked in Kenosha, and his father lived there! He had more connection to the city than many of the rioters there!
