the reason I like him though is that I would BARELY even call this a "debate". destiny has really been leaning hard into making conversation compared to debating. debating is a sport that has a winner. in the midsts of a real debate nobody is giving the other person any ground and nobody is changing any minds on anything. if you tell someone theyre an idiot youre insane if you think they might agree with you after. its very obvious to see someone will say something destiny big time disagrees with and may be very prepared to dispute it but instead he'll just switch tactics and try to get back on similar ground. If you’re not genuine you’re not worth listening to. I don’t believe he is genuine and if he is that may be worse. I don’t care for Trump because of his isolationism. @@cp3190 just because you watch brain dead commentary doesn’t mean we all do, when’s the last time your pundits did their research on the show? Destiny viewers aren’t just being told what to think they literally get to watch the research happen in real time and watch as (for example) destiny was pretty well on the fence about Israel before reaching his current stance, as we all learned about the atrocities that happened for both sides as they keep trying to justify continuing a conflict.

And again the research happens on stream, you literally can not tell me that destiny isn’t WELL above average intelligence considering he can point out the cognitive dissonance in people LIKE PETERSON. And yeah I know how scouting works I was scouted too, idk what that has to do with anything we were saying but k. And people with brains care if information can be verified, regardless of medium. Example: gaza health ministry might have a conflict of interest on how to report numbers, but if the numbers they provide match with is real data centers, American, European etc, then odds are they aren’t lying about number of deaths. Again, just for one example.

@@ravenhawk3758I hear you and there are positives to it. But it's not good for political thought leadership. Why? Because you have to see themes as a leader. In this discussion, around 38:00, he quoted a conservative justice in a shallow way (Scalia), and with another host he might have gotten away with looking smart and so balanced... but Will knew the quote and the context on a deeper level, and the larger theme that Scalia was getting at was the opposite of what Destiny was trying to say. Destiny was trying to use it as an argument FOR institutions, because without them we would only have "parchment rights" or rights on paper. But Scalia was actually warning against putting your trust in any institution to guarantee you rights to anyone else's things (positive rights). So Destiny puts faith in institutions because he sees their flex, but doesnt realize the nature of those institutions or the core principles that led to them and protect against them. He doesnt acknowledge that Will understood the theme and principle of what Scalia was saying and then continues after that by basically saying "Well, it's insane to think that on the whole the institutions are nefarious, and people are just trying to do the right thing." That's beside the point! He's right, in that it would a sick, cynical person to think that throughout all the institutions there is some vast conspiracy to take down Americans, and that everyone is involved. But the point is, how were these institutions designed, and how do we use the principles that founded this country to help guide our handling of them. If he's not willing or able to discuss those principles and keeps shifting the discussion to defend the status quo, then he and whoever follows him uncritically will be susceptible to being "useful idiots", even if they are smart. Because, no, it is not possible for every single government employee to be some evil conspirator, but it is possible, and extremely likely that this country's comminist adversaries would seek to subvert our institutions and use them against us. Which, if you look at the THEMES at play... censorship, lawfare against political opponents, radical cultural shift... THAT idea not only seems possible, but extremely likely and all but conclusive.

there are objectively more sane voices on the left than there are on the right. Your idea of what the "left" is comes entirely from twitter, but when you actually look at POLITICS and who the POLITICIANS are, it's MASSIVELY more moderate than tankie. Meanwhile if we look at the right, these EXTREME CONSPIRATORIAL BELIEFS are the AVERAGE belief of the AVERAGE conservative. And these EXTREME CONSPIRATORIAL BELIEFS have support ALL THE WAY UP THE OFFICIAL REPUBLICAN CHAIN OF COMMAND up to the, at one time, president of the united states donald trump. The irony of talking about "sane voices" when the insane voices have GENUINE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT on your side is palpable. 99% of your beliefs have no actual evidence behind them and you're able to do that by declaring that everything is a conspiracy so you don't have to prove anything. It's absurd.
