This is a fret less guitar,,the Oud is originally a fretless instrument,,so when you de-fret a guitar the boundaries between single notes are gone,,you can have half or quarter of a note just like with bending technique,,which makes it much like an Oud,,some say the oud is the instrument originating guitar and so,they're very similar..
