Ha' you're funny! These problems have been issues for the city long before any of the folks you are trying to blame for it were even born. I understand you probably have a problem with so called Democrats being in charge based on the people you just named and the positions they hold and honestly, I could care less about that because history tells the full story of this issue... The city of St. Louis has been losing population for over 60 years and honestly, it has been going on in larger Midwest cities for about the same amount of time but I'm sure you know this and have looked into this.. this isn't unique into st. Louis.. we just haven't figured out how to fix it. As I stated previously, it's bigger than just crime. It has problems with divided city government, problems with not being part of the now larger county (like on eif the ONLY places in the country that has this setup!), problems in the educational system lacking funds due to city government giving the tax base away to developers (along with losing population), it has problems with this city vs county mentally which creates phycological barriers between people who all claim to be ST. LOUISIANS! It has problems with segregation, and classism which further divides people. It has problems with people like you who only see things skin deep and realize you are dealing with the oldest city west of the Mississippi who's problems are centuries deep.. if you want to discuss this more I'm all for discussing it for real but one liners blaming on the current politics isn't going to cut it bro... Minimally do the research and give some real feedback....

Raleigh NC is a very strong attractive growing city.Raleigh is in Wake County and we have like 10 different towns within the county that contribute to the tax base.Working together is why Raleigh is a top 5 city 28 years and running.I am sure ST Louis was a real nice place at one time.I would like to visit some day.

Surprised you give it that credit. As a native, I find it too risky to visit any tourist areas in the city. The Arch (might get robbed. Almost did once.), City Museum (imposing grifters trying to sell bullion cubes as hash), Delmar Loop (same), Soulard (ghost town now, same, and potentially dangerous), Ballpark Village (better stay in or very close to it), Washington St (moderate chance of getting robbed and/or shot). Pretty much anywhere in the city... Nahhh, I'll give it a hard pass.
