Congratulations on another beautifully narrated and filmed video. Your authenticity and unpretentious style definitely add to the Portuguese vibe. Coimbra is definitely a beautiful historic town. Perhaps the most romantic in Portugal, It's unfortunate so many of its irreplaceable buildings have fallen into disrepair. Hopefully there will come a time when the country realizes its importance and brings it back to the shining gem it once was and is meant to be. Let's get more tourists in there! Your love of codfish is astounding! There's got to be some long forgotten Portuguese DNA in those genes.

@josephrego2527 Thank you, and yes, Coimbra is a real gem and should be ranked higher than it is now. Again, the people are very friendly, and there is beauty everywhere💯 If we talk about my DNA, for quite some time I have wanted to take one of those heritage tests to find out what percentage and from where I am😁 Well, I know where my grandfathers and grandmothers are from, but I have been curious. Maybe there is hope that I am at least 1% Portuguese😄😄😄

17:10 - The fact that it was empty might have more to do with the time and the day than the restaurant's "rating". On week days, and before 8:30PM, the restaurants are not usually busy. 🙂 You liked Figueira da Foz and you liked Coimbra, you can have the city life and a beach not far from each other. If I were you I wouldn't think twice but I'm biased because I'm from Figueira da Foz and I studied in Coimbra university. 😉

I was at restaurant at 7PM, later on people started to show up 👌 Agree about Figueira and Coimbra, I would want to live in Figueira and then if I need city or bacalhau - go to Coimbra 😁 Thank you for comment 🫡

Olá Boa Noite Andrejs, Great to see back!! I believe that Figueira da Foz is pretty much right in the middle between Lisboa and Porto... (better math, LOL). Loving all the drone shots... Interesting mixes of music... enjoying it. I do enjoy watching you make friends with locals. It's very endearing. You really enjoy your food. I think the cod strips sound delicious! Obrigada Amigo.

Olá Jen, Bom dia 😉 I was saying in the middle because I found that info online, then looked at the map and realized it's bit off the middle 😄😄😄 Locals in Coimbra, very friendly and easy to communicate, loved that 💯 From now on, will not take so long breaks between videos so see you soon 🖐 Obrigado👍

We visited Coimbra twice with many nice memories. We love the building at 9:03. I recall it very well. The riverfront is a big asset for living in our opinion as the old upper town is too hilly for us (we took a cab to the university and walked down!). We didn’t visit the botanical gardens, university library, Santa Clara or other residential areas as we always run out of time. We also understand students can be rowdy during certain times of the year but is limited to the old upper town. We’ll definitely try bacalau in Coimbra next time. I wish we had sen your video before our last trip to Coimbra. Obrigado Andres. 🙏🏻

Hey 🖐 On riverfront there is couple good and new apartment blocks, upper part can get bit rough in some parts, noticed some houses completely covered in mold 😬 Not sure how it is to live in them, but for city contrast I like them 💯 As I was saying in my previous episodes for me - vibe is very important and I can say for sure, Coimbra feels friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed my stay there. I was more on center side, so did not explore Santa Clara part, I was driving by it and it was more modern I think from first look. When you visit Coimbra again, go to this restaurant, there is one in Lisbon, but I checked it on google and it looks nothing like this. Have a great week and see you soon 🫡🇵🇹

And forgot to mention about students, local told me that apartments for rent can be a problem, since a lot of students come from different parts of Portugal and of course they need apartments/rooms where to live👌

I finally made it back to my home country last year, after 50 years away, but I only went to Lisbon and Porto. Next time I will definitely have to go to Coimbra, and try the bacalhau strips at Solar do Bacalhau. Great video and great editing, something I need to work on.
