Center-Over Springs for Model Railroad Turnouts

After searching the web, I found many verbal instructions on how to make center-over springs for model railroad turnouts. However, I didn't find very good graphical instructions. Being a visual learner myself, I decided to make this video to show you how I make center-over springs for my N scale Atlas Code 55 turnouts. Enjoy!!

This looks great! I think I will be able to use the Peco PL10 solenoid turnout motors with this spring trick on my Atlas code 55 turnouts.

Funny. I loved your video because my method was too fiddly. I agree that the ground throws are way too big, but I'm hoping to mitigate that by putting the throws as close to the fascia as possible. I'll still use my center-over springs for turnouts on little-used spurs, but the turnouts that get thrown regularly need something a little more robust. I wish Atlas would follow Micro Engineering & Peco and make them part of the stock turnout! Post a video when you get yours working!

Worked for me the first try, great video. I know this is an old vid, but the spring likes to work it's way out, anyway to fix that?

Couldn't you use a type of staple to do that. Perhaps a carpet tacker staple?

I like the idea, but not the appearance. Assuming you drill a hole in the subterrain under the turnout to accommodate the spring, is there any reason that it couldn't be inserted underneath the turnout?
