Lea Ellemann is an interdisciplinary artist, fashion designer and creative researcher. In her work, she questions the (self-)healing capacity of humans and the influence of movement in relation to textiles in this process.
As one of the first artists of our Center Stage Robotics Residency, she explores how a connection can be made between robotic and human movement, in combination with textiles and costumes.
Creative direction, costume + set / scene design: Lea Katrin Ellemann
Performance: Clothilde Cappelletti
With Center Stage Robotics, Ulrike Quade Company researches how industrial robots and robotics can be part of a theatrical and performative setting. We do this together with three partners:
- Visual artist Bram Ellens.
- Programmer Rick van Dugteren of Event Robotics, robot lab, and workspace Creative Robotics.
- Prof Dr Maaike Bleeker on behalf of Utrecht University.
With Center Stage Robotics, we want to create a space for the performing arts sector to get inspired, find knowledge and new ways of working with robotics, but also explore how knowledge from the performing arts, and specifically puppetry, can inspire the world of technology and help us imagine a future with robotics.
Subscribe to our channel for everything theater, puppetry, and robotics!
