Do you plum depth first to get rough idea or can you run threw shallow ?

Hello mate. Personally I just have a guess at the depth and then keep making the rig longer until I start touching bottom. I then make it a an inch or two shallower than that, usually does the trick. I've seen people plum depth when trotting but I think this is too much of a faff in fast flowing shallow rivers like this. Depth changes so frequently you'll never get it bang on anyway. @@jasonridyardhome yes just what I was thinking! We’ve trotted here once before in Feb this year, got loads of grayling but no trout….they’ve got to be in there though! Tight lines mate
