I can't understand how can't you see a difference in picture between these two scopes? Hawke is visible sharper, more details can be seen. Less blur on enges.

I agree, I took screenshots of the tree from both of The scopes to compare them. The Hawke is much sharper in my opinion. Also, wait till the light starts to drop and see how much you can see with that $100 scope... that objective lens size will make a huge difference in the amount of light. It’s simple physics.

@@emmadaigle9603 yep, and I said “In my opinion.” If you wanna cheap out then it’s a personal choice. Just don’t expect to get anything the same and with a PCP, that think will rattle its self to pieces over time. Also, the light that think takes in will be minimal so your going to notice it when the sun starts to dip.

Absolutely love my Centerpoint 4-16x50. It's bright, has Mil dot, AO, and is very rugged. I've shot 1000 rounds through a nasty springer and the POI has not changed. If it can take that beast, it can take a 300 Win Mag.

I tested a Centerpoint scope on my friend airgun and I was quite satisfied by this little scope, I was quite surprised in fact to see all these negative reviews about this brand. Of course it's airgun and not a 'big caliber' but for the cost I think Centerpoint doesn't look like a bad choice. BTW I'm not an expert, so I think it clearly depend on which kind of gun you will install it.

Good comparison man. Even though the you dont see a lot of differences in the clarity of the 2 in broad daylight where you will see a huge difference is at dawn and dusk. The higher priced scope will let in a lot more light due to the difference in coatings of the glass and the arrangement of the lenses inside the optic. The higher priced scope will also have a more durable coating that will last far longer than the 99$ scope. They are both made at the Light Optics factory in China I'm sure and you can order a scope made to whatever spec you desire from them. You are also paying for more precision tracking in the turrets of the more expensive scope. You know me man I'm a scope snob so I pay a lot of attention to these things. Hey btw next month they harvest the fields down here if you want to come down and check out the new rig I just built.

I have had a Crosman Nitro Venom break barrel with hardwood furniture for maybe seven or eight years now, with the included bare bones Center Point scope installed. For what it is, it does its job very well. A couple years ago I wanted a scope for my new Ruger 10/22, which I no longer have. I went to the gun and pawn shop in town to see what they had. I looked out the store window to across the street with each scope. Ho hum, all the same. Then he handed me a used Nikon. Wow! It was like HDTV! Nice as the Nikon was, I couldn't justify a used scope that would have cost much more than what I had paid for the rifle. I put a $30 Tasco on it before I sold the rifle some time later. Good video.

Thanks for this video buddy :-) I notice that the HAWKE that you have has the "AMX" style reticle.....This made me wonder if that particular scope from HAWKE is one of theirs that is rated (mechanically) for spring-piston air rifles. If so, these scopes are build to withstand the repeated harsh mechanical recoil characteristic that would cause many lower-end scopes to fall apart internally....that 'could' explain 'some' of the additional cost maybe

Having some high end pcp’s and springers a while ago I picked up a cheap workhorse springer for £50 which is a hatsan mod 90 in 177 and I’ve been meaning to get a cheap budget scope for it and today I was in a U.K. shop called cash converters just browsing and my eye caught this Center scope 3-9x40 scope which was still with its box and looked unused and it was up at £25 so I took a chance on it at that price. So I’ve mounted it and zeroed it and it’s doing a cracking job. I’ve only got it dialled in at 25 yards but it’s putting pellet on pellet and I must have put over 100 shots through it and given the gun a knock or two to see if it’s holding zero and it is no problem at all. It’s a very clear scope and at that price for what I need it for it will do the job nicely.

First of all just because both scopes are made in China does not that they are made with equal manufacturing techniques and materials. I have the very same CenterPoint. I shoot a lot and after using the CenterPoint for about 4 months, the adjustment turrets got loose and sloppy and the scope was not holding zero anymore, let alone track. I also have some Hawke, MTC, Aztec, and Athlon scopes that I had for years and they work just as well as when I first installed them on my rifles. Quality becomes apparent over time. You can also tell quality when you pick up a quality piece. Center Point is for casual shooter who keeps his rifle in the closet and brings her out once of twice per year!

Clarity is one thing, but the holding zero and consistent clicks/values and adjustment range is a whole other thing. Especially when shooting longer range. Cheap 24x scopes have 36 MOA adjustment, meaning if you're shooting 100 yards with a .22lr you run out of adjustment and can't zero it without a 20 Moa mount. Mid range have 50-65 this Hawke probably have 80 ish with the zoom it has.

Good video brother. But I'll stick to my Hawke scopes. I've never had any luck with Center points. But I'm sure there are some good ones out there. 95% of the Scopes made are from China.... And if they say American-made. I guarantee they probably have Chinese glass in them. Good video brother Shoot Straight stay blessed. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸✌

Agreed, most scopes are made in China these days. Most glass is Chinese, some of the better ones use Japanese glass (Nikon, SWFA, etc). But I also would rather spend $X on a scope and have it all go into the scope rather than get "free" rings with it. I know who makes good rings and who doesn't.

Chinese glass? Leupold is the only company that's honest about it in saying that they have to use Chinese glass, because there's not a sufficient glass supply elsewhere in the world to even fill their orders! Sad, but I believe them.

Just checked it out. You failed to mention one really important point. Lifetime warranty! That's pretty hard to beat. I was a little soured on Centerpoint Scopes when I got one with a Walmart air rifle. Of course they have to give you the absolutely cheapest one they can make. So I discount that as not typical of their normal scope.

I'll stick with Hawke they are superior to Centerpoint in every way. It's not about how good you can see through them. It's about how they perform and how long they last. Hawke scopes are made to last I know this firsthand.

@@favidjenden3612 They make Hawke scopes for all types of budgets though. I wouldn't dare choose a Centerpoint over a Hawke even if I had to sacrifice magnification or whatnot. Think if you'd of set the camera up properly on the Hawke, instead of having it black out half the scope, set both reticles up so they wouldn't blur out, then you'd spot the Hawke would be much better optics. It was clear right from the beginning, that you were bias towards your cheap centerpoint.

With anything made in China, it will be as tight or as loose with specs and quality as the company its being made for dictates. If Fender wants a budget Squier guitar, that's what will be built. If Chapman wants a high end guitar, thats what they will built. Both will probably be built in the same factory. Some times you get more or less than you pay for depending on who the importer is. A 1x30 belt grinder sold by Harbor Freight is a better by than the one offered by Grizzly. They are the same machine, but Grizzly charges 2 or 3x more than HF.

Same factory? Who cares if it is even? I can make a turd or eggs and bacon. Clarity is a small portion. How's the rest compare? I had one $100 Chinese scope that had nice clarity and I sent it back cause it claimed to be gas purged and all yet it wasn't. The fast focus eye piece would completely unscrew right off even with no apparent seal. How's the turrets? Do they track? Can you test it for recoil etc? Clarity looks fine but I'm interested in more info if you got it. Thanks for the clarity comparison but it's pretty well meaningless without the rest.

The majority of scopes world wide are manufactured in China, soma are exceptional quality and some are appalling. It's pointless having a scope ready to go if it's an appalling quality with poor tracking etc. Fortunately for yourself that wasn't the case.

Doing some research myself I hear a lot of trash talk on Center Point, MOST is Illogical my "friend" said or an "Uncle", Next logical question I do ask is You Ever had one? the stench and looks I get 99% have not ever owned one. And are basing an opinion on nothing, Yes the Hawk is a little clearer distance wise pushing out past 300 yards or so, Even then one must realize 99% of all Shots for game in America is no greater than 100-150 yards. ALL REALISM involved, $500 scope and hardware for "HUNTING" Be a NO!!, However YES if I were what is called "PRIZE SHOOTING" long distance for cash/bragging sure the Hawk would be ideal. But then again Hawk owner bad day, or sick that day and lost to a Center Point. I would not want to be that guy
