Great review👍 I have Airmax scopes mounted on all my HW springers. That are twelve of them and never had an issue. Prefer the Aimax more than the Vantage because of the finer cross hair and half mill dots. Maybe you should have mention the fixed power SWFA SS series scopes. Those are superb scopes and very well build. The SWFA is my first choice in fixed power hunting scope because you'll never mess up with the hold over on different power settings, easy AO access on the eye piece and dead on with range finding. 👌Cheers!

Ive got Hawke, MTC, Riton, Vector and Arken, like them all. All MRAD and a split of SFP and FFP. Good optics make such a difference to the shooting experience! Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic informative video thanks for sharing , I'm a big fan of fixed mag scopes , at present my go to scope is a swfa 10x42 , shame you haven't got one to include in your reviews , Optically and mechanically they are second to none from a price point of view

Yes a little bit pricey , That said I own a couple of the optisan CP scopes , the fixed 10 and the variable , Brilliant little things , Your comment about the fixed 10 being a bit brighter and sharper is spot on ,, Both great scopes

Something to consider with these entry level scopes is that they are not all made equal. So you can buy the same scopes but the rets will be different. I have had a few CP’s and the rets have all been slightly different in terms of thickness

That's interesting. I spoke with a shooter who had the opportunity to test a pre-production model. His opinion was that it was much better than the one that came to market. 🤔

My rule of thumb is to spend 2/3 of your budget on the gun and 1/3 on a sight. But 50/50 would not be excessive.

If having your scope ring close to turrets affects focus that would suggest to me the rings are over tight

I always use a torque driver set well below the recommended settings so I know they're not too tight. From what Hawke said there's obviously an issue with the scope.

Personal bug bear of mine is mismatched turrets and ret. If you have a mil dot ret you ideally should have mil turrets not Moa and on my traditional scopes I prefer ffp so sim points stay the same and if I’m zeroing and off by 1/2 a mil dot just adjust by 5 clicks

Personally, I don't find the mismatch an issue as I'm shooting at a fixed mag and fixed focus. I like a mil ret for bracketing and a moa turret for finer zero adjustment. 🙂👍
