I knew that this was not as good as the 1275, but I only paid $75 for it with a 25% off coupon. I don't use them often, so for the price, it works. Not a commercial unit by any means, but ok for infrequent use.

Harbor freight used to sell the McCulloch 1275... Should of grabbed it when I had the chance!
@bradjohnson9671 Жыл бұрын
I picked up this exact unit last week. I returned it yesterday.. Why? Worked fine for 30-40 seconds at a time. Then had to wait for the steam generator to heat up again and wait for the red light to go out. So work for 30 sec or so, wait 60-90 seconds and do it again and again. The inside of my tank had lots of junk in it. I emptied the tank before returning it, lots of white powder residue came out. I only did 3 refills of the tank with distilled water so basically went through 2 tanks. When buying a steam cleaner make sure to check the "cycle" time. They say you can run for 40 minutes or so but that is NOT continuous.

Can you add any cleaning products or essential oils to the water? Also, can I steam my walls with this?
@100GTAGUY10 ай бұрын
Essential oils perhaps if diluted a bit more than recommended (heat tends to make aromatic compounds much more pronounced). And then flush out the tank and lines to remove any residue which may form and clog things. However i would absolutely not recommend putting any chemical cleaning agents into a steamer, unless recommended by the steamer manufacturer and only if you have the required ppe to use said chemicals in such a manner as per the chemical manufacturers warnings. Some of that stuff you dont want to breathe at room temp, let alone in a vaporized and heated form. The industrial solvent vapor cleaners ive seen used in aviation maintenance for regular (but heavy) cleaning requires chemical resistant full body suits, and SCBAs and or respirators rated for the chemicals.

I bought one and its going back! Yes it makes steam, but so doesn't a cloths iron. Another important note. Never open the reservoir once the water is heated. The pressure in their is comparable to that of a radiator in a car and can scald you. On a final note I've been in the building business for 40 years and have used countless pieces of heavy equipment and tools and this steam cleaner is a waste of money. For anyone to say its worth buying I have to wonder why.

I initially was looking at these for generic DIY vehicle detailing and some household cleaning, mainly because of the price point and amount of use i estimated id give it. However upon watching some reviews i may spring for a Mccolluch for longevity and qualitys sake, and heck ive been looking to maybe start my own business and detailing seems up my alley and lucrative locally. Most people near me who do deatil vehicles only detail cars, but im considering boats and aircraft too. By offering detailing services to the kind of clientele that can afford to operate marine vessels and aircraft, i may even be able to offer better pricing for my automotive clients.

What I used was purified... even better. Reversed osmosis is better than distillation. Especially for steamers and making them last
@jaredb21426 жыл бұрын
you want distilled. there is no purer water than that. spring water has some of the highest TDS (total dissolved solids) of any water. in the boiling chamber those dissolved solids will be left behind as the water vaporizes which will bring an early death to your steamer. you can test this out. fill 2 pots on the stove. one with spring water and the other with distilled and heat until all water is gone. you will be shocked to see what sludge is left behind by the "purified spring water". Distilled water has a reading of 0 ppm on the TDS meter. spring water will vary from 200 - 300 ppm. Reverse osmosis will not remove all of the sediment either. much better than spring water however. this is the reason you are having to replace your steamers. they build up with sludge and mineral deposits and they no longer perform. this goes for anything that requires water. including humans. 10 years of drinking distilled water here. good video though.
