Welcome back to the channel!
In this one we are back in the shop for an unboxing and review on my new Central machinery parts washer from Harbor Freight! So far it hasn't disappointed... Parts and pieces feel like good quality and went together really easy!
Tested it on a few parts and does the job as would be expected! If you are in the market for a new washer, this one is definitely worth you money!

I have one as well and it's still going strong 3 years later. I ended up using the Zep citrus from Home Depot and it works pretty good. I think I'll check out the stuff you got as well since it's probably time to change it out anyway 🙂 You will use it more than you thought you would lol.

The zep cleaner is pretty good stuff too. Only thing I don't like about the water-based cleaners is the dish soap feel too it. For cleaning any kind of stuff you have to weld or paint you still need to whipe down with alcohol or brake clean or something. Either way though I guess it doesn't take as much brake clean to get the job done so still better than without it.

@@YerkitRacingChannel I always go the extra mile in cleaning when welding or painting anyway lol. I know back in the day everyone used mineral spirits, so I bought some of that as well but didn't end up using it.

I did the same thing bought a big thing of mineral spirits but decided against it... Never really worried about it before but after the oven cleaner almost destroyed my intake manifold a few months back I'm thinking a little more about what chemicals I use... Also on a safety note...When I was trying to get the oven cleaner off I soaked it in the purple Zep and then used some aluminum brightener on it from napa... Didn't use any kind of mask as I was outside in wide open air. That was a mistake!!! My lungs were on fire for about 2 days after that..... Don't know if the chemicals didn't mix well or what but it sucked.

@@YerkitRacingChannel I actually started with the purple.Zep and it did a number on the aluminum pieces of my wife's LT1. That's when I switched over to the Citrus and everything seemed to do ok after that. I agree the purple stuff was potent!

@@4thgenZ28 maybe that's why it didn't seem to help the oven cleaner situation. Probably made the situation worse more than helped 🤦 thankfully in the end the sand blaster did good though! I'll have to give the citrus a try. Don't think I've seen it here locally though.

Get an immersion heater and it will speed up the cleaning. Got mine on Amazon. The HD Simple Green (purple stuff) is good too and it is safe for aluminum. Most are not. Also, as a dad with girls, love seeing them in the video. They can make things take longer, but so much more fun!!! Great video.

Thanks for the kind words! Love having the girls help me with little projects in the shop! I will have to check into an immersion heater. Have a link to the one you are using?

Nice. I may check into that at HF. BTW, I think the bottom shelf will be better installed bottom up.

I want one .can you use mineral spirits or gasoline in them? What do you think is best for cleaning engine parts like carbs, rods pistons excetera ? I know about sonic cleaning and hot tanks but what is good for this thing and home diy engine building

I have only used the stuff in this video so far. It seams to do decent at breaking down oil and grime. I have had better luck letting some things soak in it. Not sure if gasoline or mineral spirits can be used with this setup. I would have to do more research on that. I have heard good things about kerosene as a cleaner but again not sure if it can be used with this parts washer.
