Atlas just announced an n scale P&W locomotive. (Providence & Worcester) Might have to pick it up as the closest thing to our local P&W loco. Love the vids, it’s like railfanning with you while I’m at work!

I've never met with a train that I didn't appreciate. I HAD to realize that I couldn't stop trains. I grew up in a city of about 60,000 and waited on trains to pass often, and back then it seemed like a half-hour or more. I knew the trains brought much of what we needed, so I learned that they were necessary and good, and I grew up to enjoy them early on. Such amazing huge machines, so much power! At 65, it still is something to marvel at. Roll on, Jeremy!

These rail's look like the ones SP put down in the 60's. I lived in I should say I grew up in Cottage Grove. In the 60's 70's into the 80's we had 3 sometimes 4 trains loaded going north to Eugene and 3 or 4 trains going south with empty cars. Most had around 100 cars.

There are many less active lumber mills now. But I’m sure it was pretty cool to see so many trains back then behind the SP engines!

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure CORP bought them and just didn't both changing the logo, same thing with the ex CSX locos instead of repainting them they just patched CORP over the old CSX logo.

@@pacificrailproductions5281 Isn't the power to get all the way up Rice Hill? That's probably a pretty heavy lift
@pacificrailproductions52812 жыл бұрын
@@66zebulon you’re right! It’s a steep climb of 1.8%. That matches the grade going up the cascades on the Natron cutoff.

I could be wrong but I read they bought these engines to offset the borrowed power from UP, and on occasion they still borrow UP engines if these need servicing!

Could you tell me the schedule for trains to run on this branch if there is one? I have family in cottage grove and I want to know when the trains pass through.
@pacificrailproductions52815 ай бұрын
I know trains go south in the morning and north in the evening through cottage grove. The weekends don’t have trains as I understand it. Not sure if it’s one or two days they don’t run.
