Why does the rake need so many components. Why dont you use a drip edge as the rake and hem the roof panel and use a screw threw the drip edge and the hem to hold it in place. Seems like a cleaner, easier and less components. Please advise. I am looking to install a metal roof on my garage within a week. I have not picked roofing material yet.

Contractors who have lots of experience in metal roofing may adjust and adapt installation in the field. Do you need lightning rods for this system? Can you install this system over existing shingled roof

Is these any reason this roofing can't be installed over shingles with 1x4 or 2x4 firring every 1.5 to 2 ft on a simple gable roof?
